So, Obama went to Wisconsin and destroyed Burke's momentum ...

Not nice.

Certainly there is no arguing with a Marquette poll.

So will 538 write another article about how the RV results are more accurate?

The Democrats may very well have a net loss of governors.

Still not safe Republican. Walker is still in danger, if he was as strong as everyone said he was, he'd be up 10% now.

That's within the margin of error... but I really would get too excited GOPers. Walker is still very vulnerable. I don't have Burke winning, but it will be close.

Only up 3? With Dems having a history of closing well in Wisconsin?

Walker was never going to win by 10%. He's a very polarizing figure. Even when people saw this race as Lean/Likely R, no one expect him to win by more than 3-5%.

I think Burke still pulls it off by a razor-thin margin (after Waukesha shannanigans Wink ).

Democrats usually close strongly and do better than the polls predict in Wisconsin. Of course, the Republicans have done their best to steal the election this year by disenfranchising hundreds of thousands of minorities and other groups, so we'll see if that pattern still holds.

Wait, hold on, I thought Marquette was the gold standard? Tongue

This is still a race to look out for, but it's good news that Walker's supple bum will be spared from a spanking, right Lief?

I don't know if I'd describe Scott Walker's bum as supple (if I had to guess, it's probably somewhat bony?), but for now, at least, he can breathe easy. We'll see in October.

I never said that it was, even when Burke led.  I've never used the term for anyone except PPP.

I was saying that in general terms, but fair enough. Nevertheless, Marquette is a very solid pollster of Wisconsin and I think this shows momentum is back on Walkers side. We'll see if other polls confirm that.

But nothing happened that would have changed the momentum. This makes me think the movement toward Walker now and the movement to Burke before it were both just statistical noise.
