To say the least, I don't totally buy this:

Primary:

Landreiu (D)- 43%
Cassidy (R)- 32%
Maness (R)- 16%

Runoffs:

Landrieu- 49%
Cassidy- 43%

Landrieu- 48%
Maness- 44%

I can't believe that Landrieu leads Cassidy by 6, yet only leads Maness by 4. Maness would not be a stronger candidate than Cassidy in a runoff. The only explanation I can see for this is that Maness lacks high name recognition at this point, so he was viewed as more of a generic Republican by poll respondents.

For the most part, this poll commissioned by SCF seems junky; it looks more as if it were taken so Ken Cuccinelli could appeal for cash Roll Eyes

What's funny is that Ken Cuccinelli signed it as "Ken Cuccinelli II" - which made me think this was someone else, or someone trying to be him. Tongue

Perhaps it's to make him sound way more stately than he actually is. But you do have a point; at least if I were him, I'd try to obscure my identity as much as possible.

Normally politicians drop the initial/Roman Numeral in order to sound less pretentious; like K. Mark Takai in Hawaii as he used to be known.

LOL. Cassidy is obviously a better candidate than Maness. This poll deserves to be tarred and feathered.

"If conservatives continue to help Col. Maness, he will finish first or second in the November primary and then defeat Mary Landrieu in the December run-off."
