I say death just so I don't go 24 hours without prescribing it for a minor infraction.

As long as the employers are following minimum wage laws I would say that no punishment is in order.

If the minimum wage laws are not being followed, then a fine for ten times the amount of the difference should be a sufficient deterent.

Option 2. If an illegal alien is hired, the company should have to prove that they could not possibly have known that the person was an illegal alien. Of course, reputable companies will require some proof of citizenship before hiring someone.

Options 1 and 2 with 3 for chronic offenders. In addition, punishment should be worse if they are breaking minimum wage laws, too.

Option 1 is how I voted. Oh and most companies require a SS Number. So if they are hiring illegals they are doing it intentionally.

I agree but I believe that the wronged worker should recieve the payment - ten times what he was cheated of by the lawbreaking employer.  Really this has nothing to do with the 'illegal immigrant' aspect of the situation, which I view as much less important than the minimum wage violation.

SSN's and SS Cards are rediculously easy to forge.  Why do you think such a fuss is being raised about proposals to restrict the issuing of drivers licenses to illegal aliens?  Driver’s licenses are among the hardest of the pieces of documentation an illegal alien needs in order to function in US society to forge.

i would provide a version of the three-strikes law:

if you are caught only once employing illegal immigrants, you are levied a fine, and given a warning.

if you are caught again employing illegal immigrants, the fine is tripled.  you are warned that this is the last chance you will ever have to reform the way you do business.

if you are caught a third time, option 2 will be the sentence handed down.  in particularly egregious circumstances, perhaps option 3 as well.

it ought to go no further than that.

It'd be interesting to reverse Santa Clara County vs. Southern Pacific, and then start revoking licenses to corporations.
