Bernie Sanders running for Governor greatly helped it, and his successful time as Mayor marked the beginning of the rise of progressivism. Howard Dean was elected Governor less than two years after Sanders became Representative, and from there it's only became more progressive.

less than 1% were born in North Carolina
less than 1% were born in Rhode Island
less than 1% were born in Ohio
less than 1% were born in Virginia
less than 1% were born in Washington DC

Made by a conservative think tank, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Edit: also it's largely funded by the Koch brothers, so it's kind of hilarious that they're complaining about other groups having out-of-state funding.
