Most of CA's districts look reasonable, like a 3.

You could see some Dem areas carved away in Fresno County, but its reasonable otherwise.

Largely what makes CA-20 Dem.

7. It takes high populated dem areas and takes toss-up and lightly populated rep areas and throws them in. I still have no idea how to post a picture. I live in NJ-12.

I guess a 7. The GOP tried to make PA 13 into a Republican district and, as Flyers will brag, it backfired. I better be thrown into PA 8 in 2010.

if you're still living with your parents and thus in the same location in 2010, you have more imporatant things to worry about than your congressional district.

This is mine:

It doesn't look that bad, but while it geographically makes sense, the fact is that the western half of it is much different than the eastern area. My city (I'm sure you can all see it) doesn't fit too well in the district, and neither does the southern strip of counties below  it expanding out to Austin, or Rochester, which is much more urban and trending Democrat. The old "four corners" plan was better. The new district is more Republican than the old one even though it's still trending Dem, but I really hope we get rid of those western counties in the next census. Of course by then I'll almost certainly be living in MN-5 anyway.

I'll probably just be moving out around that time. Sorry that might not be "cool" enough for you. Roll Eyes

sorry, but I don't know anyone who lives with their parents at 21. Are you going to college?

Not to mention, the first election under the new district lines would be in 2012. By then you'll be older than I am now.

Sorry but I don't care. I'm likely to go to college around here so it makes no sense to go away. Also, why don't you ask people your age on the forum if they live alone. Example: Flyers2006. He's actually older than you and I have a feeling he still is living with his parents.

Wrong. Here in PA re-districting took place in 2002 and the new lines were for the 2002 election.

AZ-02 is interesting (connects Phoenix suburbs to Las Vegas outskirts not to mention the 'string' that holds it to a Navajo tribe)

You have insulted me.  It is however unfortunate I still have to live with parents due to the very high cost of living around here.  I would have moved out a while ago if it weren't for the money.  I'll be 25 in 3 weeks and know a few older than me that still live at home.

Who cares what he thinks? You live with your parents. Big deal. You shouldn't be worried about being in a rush to move out to prove yourself to idiots like BRTD.

Oh, I don't think it is a big deal.  My parents aren't that big of a pain.  Yes, my dad goes off the deep with his Catholicism, but otherwise I'm fine with them.

This is the worst. It's also why I find little sympathy for Democrats complaining about the GA redistricting effort this year.

That's because of the bipartisan gerrymandering.

The Democrats completely controlled the redistricting process in CA. NY had bi-partisan re-districting, and they had a couple of interesting ones.
