This was back in the day when many rural counties were more democratic than urban counties, even Travis! Thanks for the results (and the other 2, as well).

Part of the reason Democrats often ran fairly weak in Travis County in the late 20th century was also the relative strength of La Raza among inner city Hispanics and some leftist hippie whites (and later, the overperformance of the Green Party, which is part of the reason GWB carried the county for president in 2000).
