Summary: D: 40%, R: 36%, I (Cutler): 15%, Undecided/Other: 9%

I thought this was an important improvement to the summary.

This is a weak enough lead that Susan Collins' massive victory could drag Michaud down since she comes first on the ballot. Even though I'd prefer Cutler to Michaud, he should really drop out so we don't hand this to LePage again. He's been absolutely horrendous and in no way deserves another term as Governor of anything.

>Implying that Beebee's and Michaud's positions are at all similar

I'm not saying this will happen, or that the chance is anything greater than small, or that if Michaud loses it's because of Collins. But it is a legitimate concern.

My point is that a gubernatorial and senate race are roughly even in terms of importance, and it's very rare (if ever) for one to have coattails on the other. LePage and Lincoln are known and disliked. Beebe and Collins are known and liked.
