Chism had the most accurate poll in this race.

The silver lining for Cochran is that this poll is only among those that voted in the GOP primary. I'm assuming the (likely very small) group that shows up in the runoff that didn't vote in either primary should favor Cochran.

I wouldn't be so sure. I guess some democrats want Cochran to fall.

A Run off always favores the non incumbent.

I expect Mcdaniel to win.

^ I thought Cochran was sending mailers and reaching out to black communities, though.

He can try. But if they really wanted to keep Cochran, they had voted for Cochran in the dem primaries.

Oh and, by courting the dems, it can backfire among the gop!

Only if the Democrats wanted to be represented by Chris McDaniel to try and torpedo the national GOP. Perhaps the crowd here wants that, but do most Mississippi Democrats actually have the level of hackishness where they want the candidate they agree with on less to win? If there's ever something that can backfire badly, it would be that.

The thing is, Democrats don't turnout in non-presidential elections even in D vs R match ups, so why would they be motivated to turnout for the Cochran? Most of the Democratic electorate probably isn't even paying attention to the race.
