Q: If the Republican primary election for Senate were held today, who would you vote for: Thad Cochran or Chris McDaniel?

45% Cochran
40% McDaniel
15% Not sure

METHODOLOGY:

The sample size for the survey is 599 likely Republican primary voters and the margin of error is +/-4.0%.  The Interactive Voice Response (IVR) automated telephone survey was conducted May 27-28, 2014 by Harper Polling.  The total percentages for responses may not equal 100% due to rounding.

Harper has actually turned out to be a good pollster, getting the Senate race in NJ 100% right last year and pretty much nailing the PA Gov. primary on the Dem side this year.

I think Cochran has the advantage due to the actions of the McDaniels people, but yeah, this isn't going to be a blowout.

RRH will have a poll out today, so that will be good to see too.

Good for Cochran, though.

RRH just announced their poll will be delayed slightly from scheduled 2 PM release due to a math error.
