Branstad should be thanking God that the IA Democrats couldn't get a realistic opponent against him. Hatch not only lacks a ton of name ID, but his campaign (and his website) are disorganized and he's old and outdated like Branstad is and just too liberal for Iowa.

Olson seemed like he could have been the better of the two candidates, but the problem was the filing deadline had already passed when Branstad's staff scandals were leaked in which case Culver or Fitzgerald may have ran, but I guess he's lucking out the same way Christie did on that small time lapse. Still, it's Branstad's race to lose and leans R for now. Hopefully Hoefling can weaken him somewhat in the primary.

Branstad will win by double digits: 55-43 when all said and done.

But yeah, Iowans are suffering from Branstad Fatigue with likely prospect of seeing him secure 24 years in Terrace Hill (governor's residence) and 6 terms can tire people out.
