Well, the good news for Parnell is the deadline passed and no Libertarian or Alaskan Independence right-wing candidate got in alongside Myers and Walker. The bad news, he has a 42% approval thanks to the corporate tax breaks and has a party primary from a former AK Republican Party Chairman just 2-3 months before the general. He should survive, but the last thing Parnell needs is a lack of support from his own party in his re-election efforts while his own Lt. Governor is unlikely to make the ballot with him. I would have preferred to see Berkowitz run again because this seat could have been contested with a strong enough candidate, but who knows? Maybe Mallott will prove us wrong.
As for Lt. Governor, McGuire dropped out which means we have a better chance at winning the seat plus it's very likely now that 2 Dan Sullivan's will appear on the ballot.
