There's no point of talking with the former Tsar, whose rightful place is before the court instead of behing the table.

The world will wait for Tsar Alexander IV to talk with.

Joint AH and Germany declaration:

We recognize Alexander IV as the Tsar of Russia.

We believe the current tsar is crazy and we believe that Russians are currently victims of him. Many Russians are dying because of the Black Hundreds. And the Tsar prefers to see his Empire falling than conceding any territory that aren't Russians: Serbia, Montenegro,...  Seriously Russians, do you really want to die for them? Especially because these 2 countries would get autonomy and their slavic kingdom/
If the current Tsar is deposed, we promise Russians a fair peace and we're willing to make some compromises that will be favorable to you. We don't want to destroy Russia at all, our objective is clear: we want to depose the crazy Tsar.

To whom does the international community refer to as Alexander IV? Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich? Or do you mean newborn Tsarevich Alexei, who would presumably rule through a regent?

The Tsarevich, at least we do.

Just noticed, his name was indeed "Alexei", not "Alexander", lol.

Well, let it be Alexei I then.

I assume that the Kaiser was not named Alexei's godfather in this timeline.

While Serbia and Montenegro refuse all offers from Austria-Hungary and Germany, Romania has decided to seek a way of the war. Negotiations and some minor efforts have resulted in the following treaty, which has to be signed by Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Wilhelm III and Chancellor Bülow:

In the light of Romanian peace, the world, and the Russian people in particular, should make note that Nicholas Romanov had no qualms with sacrificing Poland and the Baltic provinces (lands annexed by Russia). At the same time, he is ready to fight for the death (of Russian soldiers, not his) for Serbia and Montenegro, two small foreign countries. He even offered additional Russian land in order to save these two countries.

Russians, does it make any sense to you? Is that why you should go to die?

Fighting in defense of your homeland is one. Fighting for interest of foreign monarchs is entirely diffrent matter. This war could be over in a moment, had the Tsar thought of his people first, and his foreign allies second.

I remind the old Turk that few in Russia are dumb enough to hang on his every word--and that nearly all in Russia regard the Serbs as far more loyal brothers than the treacherous Poles, and we refuse to unilaterally abandon military allies from here on out. We have no comment on the Romanian situation other than that we ask Romania to allow free passage of Russian soldiers from Russia to Serbia and back (note: there are already still Russian troops in Romania).

On that note we hereby recognize Ferdinand I as the rightful Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

Not only the straits shall remain closed for any Russian vessels, but we must also prohibit any foreign shipments to Russia from accessing.

The straits are controlled by Sweden and Denmark, two neutral states. Are you going to impose your bloodthirsty will on them as well?

We are grateful to our American friends for their assistance.

We shall note that closing the straits for certain kind of movement is not a military operation, merely excercising our rights on our territorial water.

TO: Secret Police

While reducing expeditured on the court cannot possibly damage our position with the people, some court members are certainly going to be displeased. You know the drill.

Also, do not forget to report on my brothers' performance.

(OOC: I guess nothing more to do for me for this phase)

I've made a couple of gambles this turn which I was saving for whenever I thought they were needed; hope they pay off. Wink

I think so as well, thanks for being the voice of reason here (and I think everywhere else in this game), Kal
