For those of you, for some reason, have never heard of him.

Liddy

Interesting guy; I wouldn't want to hire him though.

As a person, I find him interesting.  As an actor/talk show host, I like him.  I liked Will.

Watergate made him famous. Crime in America does tend to pay when it's high profile.

As a side note, he's a smart guy. Smart enough that I don't buy the official explanation of Watergate, well not as the sole reason anyway. They had polls back then.

I think he's a nut.  Very smart, but a nutcase.  I voted negative.

Nixon even considered him a nutcase, but thought he could use him for certain types of activities.  And he got burned by it.

Well, I only know about him because he does appearances on Hannity and Colmes every now and then, but he seems like a nice/interesting guy.

Later I read one of his books, and I agreed with a lot of it. I voted positive. Why do you people think he's a nut?

I believe he once referred to Bush as a "socialist RINO"

I think he's a borderline Nazi.  He said he chose the wife he did because her genetics guaranteed that his children would be of "good teutonic stock."  He also loved to inflict pain on himself, primarily from holding his hand over a flame for a sustained period of time.

He cleaned himself up for television, but he's still a nutcase, in my opinion.  Even Nixon considered him a nut, and it was generally known around certain circles in Washington that he was trouble.

I appreciate his disdain for socialism and gun control, but the dishonesty he demonstrated in watergate is unacceptable.

Well, because he once ate a rat and he liked to hold his forearm over a fire to prove hhe could take pain.

From the Oval Office transcripts, 3/13/1973:

President Nixon:  How the hell does Liddy stand up so well?

John Dean:  He's a strange man....

Nixon:  Strange or Strong?

Dean:  Strange and Strong.  His loyalty is -- I think it is just beyond the pale.

Kinda says it all.

What dishonesty?

"Liddy organized the ill-conceived break-in of the Democratic National Campaign headquarters in the Watergate complex"
Would you not consider that dishonest?

Not unless he lied about it.

I mean, not everything bad is dishonest.

And "dishonest" is broader than an outright lie.

I don't remember him telling the DNC he was going to stop in for a peek at their files. You "break in" at night because you do not want people to know what you are doing.
