Also, I'm not quite sure what "disowning" constitutes. I do not own her in the first place, which is exactly the point. If that means never talk to her again, there's very few situations in which I'd do this. I'd exhaust all possible options before removing her from my life.

If the kid became violent around the house, stole from the family, etc. and refused to get help for whatever the problem was, then I'd be forced to cut off connections.

I would not allow a prostitute to live in my house.  But I don't think I'd disown her if she treated the family properly.  I would try to convince her to find another line of work.

Most prostitutes were sexually abused as children, and/or have severe drug habits to support.

If my daughter were a prostitute, I'd want to know why, and to see if there was any way to get her the help she needed.

If that proved impossible, and her behavior was a threat to the family in some way, I would force her out of our lives.  Prostitutes who have drug habits often have a habit of stealing, can be violent, and hang out with very bad characters, in general.

I would never disown any of my children, unless they became a serial killer or joined al Quida or something.  I would naturally be disappointed and do what I could for her to quit, but I would not cut her off.
