I just started reading about the Seventh-day Adventist Church because it's not a sect I'm extraordinarily familiar with.  Needless to say, I don't view it or its founders very favorably.

I'll give her some credit for her commitment to environmentalism, and don't agree with her on vegetarianism but it made sense in the context of the time from a health standpoint. However I strongly disagree with her strict sabbatarianism, eschatology and prophecies. So HP using the forum definition of the term, but honestly she was probably overall better than most Christian leaders of her time.

As an Adventist myself, my response simply is: Neutral.  I disagree with the way many in my church hold her as an authority on interpreting the Bible.  I definitely agree with her on the value of sabbatarianism, but I disagree with her on a host of other issues (vegetarianism, penal atonement, eschatology, jewelry, etc.).  I would even agree with my church's official position of her as a "prophet" in the sense that she brought many people to Christ.  But I can't accept her as the doctrinal authority that many have used her as.  A good teacher and well-meaning, but not much more than that.
