Mere hours before balloting begins at the Republican National Convention, rumor escapes that Clint Eastwood is the "mystery speaker" of the convention. The delegates, more than dissatisfied with Romney as the nominee, quickly flock to nominate Eastwood, and he narrowly receives a majority. Congressman Ron Paul is nominated for Vice President.

Eastwood/Paul enthusiastically. Obama would obviously win though. Sad

Chair wins in a landslide!

Chair (I-CA)/Desk (I-UT) - 329 EVs
President Barack Obama (D-IL)/Vice President Joe Biden - 110 EVs
Actor Clint Eastwood (R-CA)/Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) -99 EVs

But in all honestly, I would go for Obama still hands down.

Wasn't Eastwood a former Mayor?

Yes, but more recently he was the above described position. Had he not served in said position, I would've put "Former Mayor".

Something tells me the Republicans would be better off nominating Romney than an 80 year old actor...

Because Republicans are going to nominate an 82 year old incoherent fading actor.

Had he decided to go deeper into politics in the 1980s instead of continuing with his acting career, he would have a good chance of being elected to the U.S. Senate.

Hardly the sweeping mandate the Eastwood people wanted, but it was enough.

Former Member of the California State Park and Recreation Commission Clinton Eastwood (R-CA)/Congressman Ronald E. Paul (R-TX) 319 electoral votes, 50.10% of the popular vote
President Barack Obama, Jr. (D-IL)/Vice President Joseph R. Biden (D-DE) 219 electoral votes, 47.84% of the popular vote
Former Congressman Virgil H. Goode, Jr. (C-VA)/Former Party Chairman James N. Clymer (C-PA) 0 electoral votes, 0.53% of the popular vote

Not 100% positive; but I don't think there would be much enthusiasm for a ticket with someone in his 80s at the top of the ticket and the other position held by someone only a couple of years younger.

Chair made some gutsy moves throughout the campaign, but picking Desk as her running mate solidified the base, and it all payed off.

Eastwood announces his candidacy:

"All right, I'm running for president. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn chair down."

I was hesitant at first due to her floral upholstery, but I really approve of the job Madame Chair is doing and I think the First Urinal is such a classy, supportive spouse.
