Still just three. (DMS, SFB, PIE)

However, I will say that that number will maybe grow in July 2021, possibly including MSP, LHR, and MUC.

I picked up four this year - flights in and out of Fairbanks and Bettles AK and Brownsville TX, plus a visit in the terminal at Rome GA. To count as an airport I've been to, I either have to be in the terminal or on the tarmac (in or outside a plane). I've put an asterisk in front of those airports where I did not have a take-off or landing.

Actually, it might be more than just those three next July, I seriously doubt there are any nonstop Munich-Minneapolis flights, and it's possible we could connect for Minneapolis-London as well.

For those who want to take their flights up a level, I was introduced to OpenFlights.org earlier this year. You can get an account and keep a log of each segment, including date, flight number, aircraft, and even seat if you like. I entered all the segments I could document to get this map.

The stats it gives for my flights are:
375 segments
367317 miles
37 days 20:50

Unique
Airports   102
Carriers   39
Countries   10
Vehicles   10

Distance
Total flown   367317 mi
Around the world   14.75x
To the Moon   1.538x
To Mars   0.0106x

Journey records
Longest   MUC↔CLT, 4564 mi, 09:37
Shortest   MKK↔LUP, 8 mi, 00:31
Average   980 mi, 02:25

Airport records
Northernmost   BTT (66.91°N 151.53°W)
Southernmost   FLN (27.67°S 48.55°W)
Westernmost   LIH (21.98°N 159.34°W)
Easternmost   SVO (55.97°N 37.41°E)

Here goes nothing....

  • George Bush Intercontinental Airport (Houston)
  • Will Rogers World Airport (Oklahoma City)
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (layover)
  • Albany International Airport
  • Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (layover)
  • San Diego International Airport
  • Orlando International Airport
  • William P. Hobby Airport (Houston)
  • Ronald Reagan National Airport (DC)
  • Boston Logan International Airport
  • John Wayne Airport (Los Angeles/Orange County)

Now if I were to also include airports that I have stopped at without getting off the plane due to a refueling or bad weather, that would add Tampa International Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

All airports I've been to (surprisingly no Atlanta)

*Passed by/pick-up
Connection only
Origin and Connection at different times
Origin/Destination

US

Albuquerque
Baltimore
Boston
Charlotte,NC
Charlottesville,VA [home airport]
Chicago/O'Hare*
Denver
Honolulu
Houston/Hobby
Houston/Intercontinental
Los Angeles*
Lynchburg, VA [home airport]
Oakland  [home airport]
Orange County,CA*
Phoenix/Sky Harbor
Philadelphia
Reno*
Roanoke, VA [home airport]
Salt Lake City
San Francisco [home airport]
San Jose*
St. Louis
Washington/Dulles
Washington/National

Europe

Dublin
Edinburgh
London/Heathrow
Milan
Prague
Rome
Zurich

Total: 30

10 airports alone in the last 4 years for College, amazing how hard it is to find a consistently cheap airline and connection Tongue

Best Overall (so far): Zurich (Even 12 years later, I can still remember it decently...no airport in the U.S. has matched it...not even SF's new terminal)

Best in the U.S.: Charlotte (Simple layout, great food options, and rocking chairs...I'd rather layover here  than arrive or depart in Dulles)

Worst Overall: Los Angeles (Used 3 of the 8 terminals and they were all dirty and with terrible food choices, and absymal staff)

Worst in Europe: London/Heathrow (Still better than most U.S. airports, but nonetheless it's crowded as hell compared to other 6 I've been to and hard to get to.)

Add Knoxville, TN

Total Count: 31

Add Long Beach, CA

Total: 32

Add College Station, TX

Total: 33

Add: Dallas/Ft. Worth

Total: 34

EDIT: Turns out the connection I made nearly 20 years ago was in Houston, probably the Intercontinental.

Add: Houston/Hobby

Total: 35

Add: Dallas/Love

Total: 36

Add: Austin
Brenham, TX*

Total: 37-38

131 airports flown, with 2021 additions:
Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling (BOF)
Didn't even know Bolling had an active airfield.  Thought it was all just DIA eggheads.

But maybe thats where all those orange Puddle Pirate choppers I see daily flying over the beltway in the afternoon originate from....

For rotary-wing aircraft, yes. The runway where Khrushchev once flew in no longer can accommodate modern fixed-wing landings. I believe it was shortened to accommodate additional non-flying functions on base.
