The winter so far has been one of the worst in years.  The bad winter has created a nightmare of pothole after pothole.  Anyone else notice the pot holes worse this year than basically anytime ever?

Yeah they are awful in Michigan and we haven't even had a real thaw yet they are just going to get worse here. I don't know about other states but Michigan has been neglecting its roads for a long time a lot in part due to the state having no money and having to cut every year. Of course this year there is a surplus and of course the stupid Republicans want to give it back as a tax cut instead of fixing the roads. Although I saw a proposal where some of it goes to roads. But it should all or as much as possible should go to roads and no tax cuts. I read the tax cut would be a whooping 30 dollars. The Democrats need to hit this hard that Snyder and the Republicans won't fix the roads, since they control the whole government. It could be a great issue, Snyder is quite venerable even though he leads. This is a issue that affects everyone and one that will not go away.

In Connecticut, it really depends on the town you're in.  My town's budget constantly underfunds road repair, so potholes are quite common.

Was in Ohio, Akron and Columbus to be specific last week and they were the definitely worst they've ever been.

Sometimes the tarmac here buckles and warps during the summer.  Not much in the way of potholes though.

You should see it in Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania.

Well at least it's not just Michigan, although I read we spend less on roads than almost every other state. The joke is that they don't need a sign when you go into Ohio because the road gets better.

Sorry to say, but this confirms my experience as well. I've never seen worse roads than in Michigan....anywhere. Except maybe the Ukranian road from the Polish border to Lviv....but that's like Mississippi being happy that Oklahoma exists because it means they're not the worst.

And it's not just pot holes here as well, the roads are basically buckling up as well. At least from what I've seen so far most of the local suburbs aren't too bad but the city and many of the country highways are pretty bad.

Definitely one of the worse. Last Friday it got warm and rained, which really opened up the potholes. Luckily, the city has filled in much of them.

Yes, but given the weather, it's not surprising.

Not too bad here, they get mostly fixed after winter by the road-repair crews.

One saying I learned while growing up in MN was that were two seasons - winter and road repair.

There's very few in Lakewood since our city and streets are much more properly maintained than our neighbors over in Cleveland. There used to be tons in Cleveland, but after about over a month of putting up with jaggy roads and trying to avoid them as much as possible, Mayor Jackson finally got most of them filled.
