The Pledge of Allegiance is an interesting issue indeed.  The 'under God' nonsense is a complete political albatross for anyone who dares oppose it, not that anyone in federal office would.

The better question is why we ought to have any pledge in the first place.  Regardless of any religious references it might contain.

Five stars! Grin

LOL....Nat Soces love animals and fertilized eggs more than the do minorities.

Hitler was an environmentalist and an animal rights activist.

For all it's flaws universal education is still better than nothing at all.

Whose to say that people wouldn't get educated if they didn't steal from others to get it?

I'm an anarcho communist, how the hell do I summarize that?

You can't. YOU MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN ANARCHIST OR COMMUNIST! CHOOSE WISELY MY YOUNG PADAWAN!!!

WagaWaga

Why? Anarchism and (small-scale, local, and voluntary) communism are imminently compatible: the word "libertarianism" originally applied to people who today are considered syndicalists and Left Communists. I'm personally an anarcho-capitalist with distributivist tendencies, but I have no problem at all with the idea of anarchic communes.

Funny, you are the first "anarcho-capitalist" that associated criticism with the Constitution with "treason". Since the Constitution doesn't support anarcho-capitalism, I am left to assume that you either describe yourself as "treasonous" or are not an anarcho-capitalist. Additionally, you are the first "anarcho-capitalist" who supported tax hikes. Since anarcho-capitalists view taxation as theft, you must not be an anarcho-capitalist.

Is it anarcho-capitalist to believe that the individual has a right to own the means of production, and use them to create his goods for sale at profit? Of course it is. Is it anarcho-capitalist to reject the supply-side mantra that says that not paying down the deficit (hence raising the price on imported goods) is fine, as long as the masses get their incentive to vote for you in the form of a tax rebate? Of course it is. Don't be a twit; your narrow ideological eyeslits have absolutely no bearing on the actual philosophy.

You didn't answer the accusations, but merely gave red herrings and wrapped them up in an ad hominem attack. Anarcho-capitalists don't support taxes, the Constitution, "might makes right", or state ownership of property, yet you are on record for supporting all of these things.

Here you are stating that taxation is okay when the social contract says it is, a position held by no anarcho-capitalists, and stating that state ownership of property is okay:

When that right is granted to the State in its chartering document, then that State can own property.

And here you are stating that I could be bound to a contract that I didn't sign, and then you follow it up with stating that the Constitution is legitimate because 'the people' support it. Neither of those positions is held by anarcho-capitalists:

Quote

Hence the concept of popular sovereignty, which you'd know about if you'd actually spent time inside of a classroom.

Quote

The Constitution is legitimate because it derives its support from the people. The people continue to support it; ergo, the Constitution is legitimate.

And surely an anarcho-capitalist would have no problem reading an essay by an anarcho-capitalist, right?:

[
Quote

Hahaha, riiiiiight.

One doesn't even have to be an anarcho-capitalist to realize that "victor's justice" is wrong. You haven't made that realization, yet:

Quote

Quite frankly, yes. To the victor goes the spoils.

And here you are defending statist policies in wartime. Again, one doesn't even have to be an anarcho-capitalist to realize this is wrong:

So, statist policies are okay during wartime? That's sounds very neo-connish to me.

Presuming you want to, you know, win a war? Most certainly.

And here you are stating that secession is treason, a view not held by any anarcho-capitalists or true libertarians:

You made the claim that the 1861 C.S.A. secession from the U.S. was treason. If this is the case, explain how the 1776 U.S. secession from Britain wasn't.

The 1776 secession was treason. I don't think anyone ever claimed otherwise.

And here you are defending tax hikes, not even considering the possibility of lowering spending, the view held by even the most moderate of libertarians:

If taxes must be raised to keep the nation out of debt, then raise them as much as necessary.

Well in Einzige's defense, he never defined whether said "treason" was justified or not justified. People always assume that "treason" has a negative connotation. Not many people consider that in some cases, "treason" is the moral choice.

If you look later in that thread, he refused to read Lysander Spooner's essay No Treason on the grounds that it was treasonous.

Also, I find it funny that Einzige invariably abandons the thread once I provide evidence that his claim is bull.
