Abortion: Strongly Pro-Choice until the point of viability.

Gay Marriage: 100% in favor of, overturn state laws banning it at the federal level as discriminatory.

War on Drugs: Legalize all drugs, abolish the DEA

Prostitution: Legalize

Stem Cell Research: Expand

Affirmative Action: For but based on class instead of race

Gun Control: kind of torn, I think that there's a strong left-wing case to be made in favor of allowing people to bear arms. I can't understand liberals wanting to give racist cops a monopoly on gun ownership in big citites. At the same time if you could implement some kind of background check to prevent mass shootings i'd be all for it. I really think that overlaps with other issues also though like mental health.

Gambling: Support legalizing but I disagree with how it's done. (see below)

Immigration: The US is a nation of immigrants and I know that my ancestors were discriminated against by the WASPs when they first came here and I feel that people are hypocritical to oppose immigration. Yes it may depress wages somewhat but they're are other ways of stimulating them again. (see under economics)

Civil Liberties: Abolish the Patriot Act, Espionage Act, end NSA spying and police militarization, ban the use of domestic drones by police departments.

Other stuff: I guess i'm more socially libertarian then Socially Liberal since i've always had a problem with progressive paternalism. I think that sin taxes are fundamentally regressive and it annoys me how things like cigarette taxes and gambling are always tied to funding programs. It just seems like a bullsh**t way to avoid taxing the rich. I also think that bars should be able to allow smoking if they're adult only venues. Also the drinking age should be lowered to eighteen.

Economics:

Pro-Union, support single payer health care, free universal college education, guaranteed minimum income as a means of offsetting outsourcing. If we had guaranteed income it would be a boon to the economy as more people could leave their sh**tty jobs and either start businesses or pursue some creative venture. It would also be stimulus for those at the bottom. I also think that giving those at the bottom money directly is less demeaning to the poor then forcing them to be dependent on busy body social workers. Also institute a stock transaction tax and reinstate glass-stegal.

Foreign Policy:

Israel/Palestine: I believe that ethnic based states are fundamentally racist and if their ever could have been a two state solution it's been ruined by the nutty settlers moving onto what should have been Palestinian land. There should be one multiethnic secular state and I say this as a partial Jew myself.

Iran: I think we should lift the sanctions and move towards better relations with Iran and away from Saudi Arabia.

Afghanistan: Pull out already!

The US should remained engaged in the world and I think that under extreme circumstances intervention can be justified to prevent genocide but in general we should reorient our foreign policy towards one based on human rights and less in serving corporate interests.



Overall: Basically a Libertarian Socialist as my name would imply or more accurately an (LSD) Libertarian Social Democrat. I also think that my politics are in some ways close to Christopher Hitchens before 9/11.

I think you need to look up what the words Conservative and Assertive mean.

Except it clearly is conservative as the economic plan supports tax cuts and major ones at that for the middle class and small business, replaces welfare with workfare , deregulates the economy in every area except the bank sector , and I support cutting domestic spending

- Support cutting income tax massively and would bring the overall code down to 0,10,20,30 percent.
- Support cutting corporate tax rate down to 25%
- Support Raising capital gains taxes to 27.5%
- Oppose carbon taxes at federal level, would support at state level if income taxes are cut by same amount
- Oppose of shore tax havens and would require them to be disclosed
- Oppose sales tax
- Support cutting property tax rate by 50%


Regulations:

-Support creating an independent advisory board to do a cost/benefit analysis on every new regulation proposed  and  require all regulations proposed to be approved by the board or the house only after that cost benefit analysis is released publicly .

- Support massively  cutting regulations on small business

- Support reinstating Glass Stegall

- Support moderately cutting regulations on other businesses

Minimum Wage:

- Support raising min wage to 10.50 an hour and indexing to inflation
-Oppose totally 15 dollar wage


Healthcare:

- Allowing insurance to be sold across state lines
- Allowing medicine to be imported from Canada

Social Security:

- Support Raising retirement age to 68

Welfare Benefits:
 
- Support transitioning welfare to workfare(though basic benefits such as food stamps will still be provided like now without work requirement but others will require it)

- If you do not want to work you will have to do a job training program to get welfare

- Welfare money cant be spent on drugs/alcohol

Arguing whether you want a more conservative or more liberal version of Obamacare isn't really that huge of a difference. He obviously doesn't care much about right to work either way since the description was only a single line and he was "conflicted" and only "leaned" in support of it, so I don't see why that would matter.

Taxes and regulations is about all there is that he has substantive disagreements with her on. Compare to the current Republican Party leader who the vast majority of Republican voters worship and the vast majority of Republican politicians enthusiastically support, where he disagrees with them on:

Abortion, Same sex marriage, drug laws, gun control, religious freedom, political correctness, euthanasia, environment, immigration, minimum wage, healthcare, free trade, and foreign policy.

LMAO GOP politicians are more in favor of free trade than Dem politicians. It just that the Tarrif power was handed to the President a long time ago so there isnt much congress can do. Look at the TPP vote from 2015

The vast majority of Republican voters now support tariffs because Trump does. And it's not really worth a damn if Republican politicians say they oppose tariffs but don't do anything about it because they love their strongman god emperor and don't want to risk his wrath. A vote from 2015 isn't relevant to the present day. In case you haven't noticed, Trump has made the GOP sell whatever was left of their soul and principles in exchange for power.

There's really no evidence of that foreign policy claim. It's not 2004 anymore. The god emperor, who again I must stress has the support of >90% of Republican voters, enjoys letting the hellholes destroy themselves and loves cuddling up to Russia and Putin now while bashing NATO and any other American allies.

I guess you missed the "don't be a dick" portion of his political correctness section, which the god emperor and an increasing number of GOP politicians violate on a daily basis.

Rick Scott is a single person. The vast majority of Republicans, including the god emperor, oppose background checks and waiting periods. If they didn't, they would've passed by now.

You need 2/3 of congress to override trump tarrifs. There is enough populist dems and a minority of republicans who can stop that . By the way way more Republicans voted for TPP than dems did .

I don't feel like typing an entire novel, but I'm basically an old-school Dixiecrat minus the abhorrent views on segregation and racism. I have even voted for George Wallace for governor (in the '80s.... he had reversed course and even won the black vote at that time)

I'm fiscally progressive (with a particular emphasis on worker rights and healthcare) and socially conservative (generally anti-abortion, pro-gun, very religious)

I vote primarily based on the economic concerns for the working people in this country so I predominantly vote Democratic and consider myself a Democrat though I have voted R on a few occasions. Basically, whoever is the most pro-worker while being the least socially liberal gets my vote.
