I last did mine in Spring 2018 so I'll update:

Ideology
Social: Moderately liberal
Economic: Liberal
Foreign Policy: Non-Intervionalist

Social Policy
Abortion: 100% pro-choice. Support Planned Parenthood and federal funding toward it. I might be open to allowing states to decide if they want to ban abortions after a certain number of weeks, likely 20 weeks being the minimum.

Same-Sex Marriage: Unequivocally support.

Transgender Issues: Use whatever bathroom you are most comfortable with. I don’t really care.

Drugs: Legalize marijuana, while taxing and regulating it like alcohol. The War on Drugs is pointless.

Death Penalty: Support. There are some criminals who commit crimes so heinous that they aren’t worthy of life.

Gun Control: Expand background checks. Against an assault weapons ban or raising the age to purchase to 21. You shouldn’t be allowed to vote or register in the draft before being able to buy a gun. (Everything should be 18 - drinking age should be lowered as well, which is a different discussion.) There needs to be more done to address mental health and the stigma surrounding it.

Affirmative Action: I've gone back on forth on this one. It's a good concept (obviosuly) but I don't think I can support it in full.

Prostitution: Status quo.

Euthanasia: Support, as long as the patient has less than 6 months to live and is medically judged to be in substantial pain on a daily basis.

Immigration: More funding for border security but no wall. Deport every illegal who commits an actual crime (not counting a traffic violation or things of that nature.) Protect DACA.

Police Issues/Black Lives Matter: Support BLM (duh.)

Free Speech/Political Correctness: Support free speech. PC culture has gone too far.

School Prayer: No for public schools, up for private schools to decide.

Muslim Ban: No way.

PATRIOT ACT/NSA Spying: Support both.

Economic Issues
Minimum Wage: Raise to $12.50 nationwide and allow states to increase further if they choose.

Social Security: Gradually raise minimum age to 69 (nice) to receive full benefits for all by 2030. If you collected before 2030 and you are/were younger than that you’re grandfathered in.

Healthcare: Public option.

Globalization/Trade: Oppose TPP and NAFTA.

Deficit/Debt: Irrelevant. Republicans say they care about the national debt and then pass legislation which happens to raise it even further. Democrats do the later as well, but don’t lie about caring about it like Republicans do.

Campaign Finance Reform: Limit on how much can be donated to a campaign.

Unions: I'm in one so obviously I'm very-pro. In favor of legislation to protect unions.

Energy: Pro renewable energy. We need to move more so away from coal.

Job Creation: A major infrastructure deal. A greater focus on training and re-training individuals in order to be acclimated to the 21st century. Coal mine and steel mill jobs aren’t coming back to the level they were 50 years ago, but Democrats shouldn’t turn their backs to these people.

Education: Support Common Core. Establish a universal day care, find a way to make undergraduate college degrees more affordable. Better information needs to be given to college applicants and incoming college students about the loans they take. I agree with most of Biden's plan.

Taxes: Set corporation tax rates to 30% and given tax credits to companies who don’t ship jobs and companies overseas. It's 21% since 2018 but was 35% in the 1990s and into the 2000s.

INDIVIDUAL               JOINTLY
10%: Up to $12,000            10%: Up to $24,000
12%: $12,001 to $50,000         12%: $24,001 to $100,000
24%: $50,001 to $125,000         24%: $100,001 to $250,000
36%: $125,001 to $300,000      36%: $250,001 to $600,000
40%: over $300,001            40%: over $600,000

Cuts down the brackets from seven to five. Essentially does it by multiples of 12 (12%, 24%, and 36%) to simplify things, with a 10% bracket and a 40% bracket. All of individual's income under 50k is taxed less than current, while everything from 50k to 125k is the same. Everything after first 125k goes up. This creates 80.4 billion in new revenues, compared to the current code that only creates around 40 billion.

Other economic issues: More needs to be done to address the growing income inequality in this country. Establish three weeks of paid vacation minimum for every job, which may be increased down the road. 3 months paid maternity leave and 3 weeks paid paternity leave.

Foreign Policy
Middle East: The Middle East is a massive mess and the less that we are involved, the better. UN needs to be stronger, so we should not be playing a huge role. To be blunt we should be focused on trying to ensure that we can get the cheapest oil possible.

Syrian Refugees: Support taking in refugees. However, they must be vetted extremely closely.

Israel/Palestine: Support Israel, but like I stated earlier we need to try and pull back from the Middle East.

North Korea: North Korea is secondary compared to Russia and China.

Russia: Enforce stronger economic sanctions and provide support to our allies who share our mindset.

Climate Change: Support increasing funding towards climate change, as well as the Paris Climate Agreement.

Electoral Issues
Gerrymandering: Status quo.

Term limits: Oppose.

Voter ID: Support, but the type of ID shouldn’t be so strict. Government IDs should be cheap and easy to buy.

Voting age: Keep at 18.

Ideology
Social: Liberal
Economic: Liberal
Foreign Policy: Isolationism (except in dictatorship situations)

Social Policy

Abortion: Pro-choice, but personally I think it’s a bit wrong to have an abortion during the third trimester. Always pro choice in cases of rape, incest, or underage
Same-Sex Marriage: Fully support
Drugs: Legalize marijuana and expunge prison records for weed charges, decriminalize all others and have all non-violent drug abusers be sent to rehab instead of prison
Death Penalty: Against unless there is no doubt that they committed a crime against humanity (terrorist attack, kill civilians, break international law)
Gun Control: National registry, barr selling of assault rifle conversion kits. Mental background check on every gun owner.
Affirmative Action: I’m for economic based Affirmative Action, as class is ultimately a greater division than race in terms of climbing the social ladder in 2020.
Prostitution: Legalize to ensure safe wages and regulation.
Euthanasia: Pro, but the patient has to be mentally sound
Immigration: Pro immigration in almost every aspect. Make citizenship much easier to attain, defund ICE and get rid of all border camps. Illegal immigrants should be granted amnesty in the US for at least 5 years to attain citizenship legally, and if you spend longer than 5 years in the US, you cannot be deported if you haven’t committed a crime.
Police Issues/Black Lives Matter: Demilitarize police, allocate resources to a community brigade to provide mental health support and domestic violence assistance. Police should only be called in a dangerous situation. Pro BLM, but anti looting and unjustified violence against police.
Free Speech/Political Correctness: I’m pro free speech, but calling people slurs makes you a dick. If someone has something they prefer to be called, just call them that.
School Prayer: Optional time in the beginning of the day
Muslim Ban: Strongly against
PATRIOT ACT: Strongly Against

Economic Issues

Minimum Wage: Raise to $15 nationwide and gradually increase further. Should also be a formula related to CEO net worth and lowest workers’ wage, but I’m not an economist.
Healthcare: Public option is extremely necessary, but I still support independent health care companies for now. Over time, the government should make it better to join the government’s system.
Globalization/Trade: Pro globalization and worldwide cooperation and trade, other than China.
Campaign Reform: I believe the entire election system should be changed. More parties, more debates between candidates, less funding overall.
Unions: Pro-union
Energy: Pro renewable energy, needs to slowly phase out oil and coal. Provide alternate work for workers in those fields first.
Education: Free college for anyone making under 125k a year, slash all student debt older than 10 years.
Taxes: Rewrite the tax code, tax the rich a great deal and tax the poor a small amount. Focus on growing the middle class

Foreign Policy

Afghanistan: Exit immediately, work out a diplomatic solution.
Iraq: Exit completely, give funds to Iraqi government
Iran: Try to rewrite nuclear deal, and the end goal should be Irani-US cooperation and trust.
Syria: Establish a Kurdish UN buffer state in northern Syria and Iraq, jointly controlled by the UN, Syria, Iraq, and Turkey. UN has control, supported militarily by US. Create another buffer state in Golan Heights. Give Syrian Turkish controlled areas to Turkey.
North Korea: Try to work out a similar nuclear deal to Iran.
Israel-Palestine: Work out two state solution, encourage peace talks to begin under US supervision. UN supervised Jerusalem. Israeli military leaders take responsibility for bombing civilians.
China: Focus on diplomacy, but condemn Uyghur genocide.
Russia: Focus on diplomacy.

Environment

Climate Change: Support increasing taxes for all factories, which pollute the environment, support Paris Climate Agreement. Encourage more renewable energy

Electoral Issues

Gerrymandering: Strongly oppose
Term limits: Support, career politicians shouldn’t exist in the country.
Voter ID: Support
DC and PR statehoods:: Support DC, let PR choose whether to become a state or leave the US

Ideology: Pragmatic green, in between the progressive and moderate wings of the Democratic party
Social: Broadly center-left
Economic: Broadly center-left
Foreign Policy: Pacifistic

I thought it would be more interesting to explain my political views in terms of Dr. RI's Presidential election voter preferences survey from Oct 2019. I was one of the 500ish respondents, and answered around when I decided on Warren for the 2020 Dem primaries.

I am a registered Democrat in real life and would vote for Generic D against Generic R.

Spoiler alert! Click Show to show the content.

Pro UBI R: D
Pro UBI D: Andrew Yang for President

Pro loan forgiveness R: D
Pro loan forgiveness D: Maybe a future AOC?

Antitrust R: D, but may later support that R candidate depending on how this goes
Antitrust D: Elizabeth Warren takes on Bezos and the Zucc

Pro-slavery reparations D: Kamala Harris for the People
Pro-slavery reparations R: D, and I can see a more nationalist GOP attempting this

Anti-gender reassign surgery D: Alternate universe Tulsi Gabbard
Anti-gender reassign surgery R: D

Update

Overall: Independent

Social Policy
Abortion: Against, abortion is murder. Exceptions allowed, but it shouldn't be a common practice. In general, people should think twice before they start making babies, and I believe people should use contraception more often.
Same-Sex Marriage: Support
Drugs: Legalize marijuana and decriminalize most others. Legalize from the age of 21.
Alcohol: Legalize alcohol from the age of 21.
Death Penalty: Opposed, it's murder by the state. I believe in harsh prison sentences for severe or repeated crimes however.
Gun Control: Strongly oppose. People should be able to carry a gun, and it's a tradition. Gun-related crimes would still be the case in America, even if guns are totally banned, and if anything people can't defend themselves anymore without a gun. But I believe reforms are necessary, and certain people shouldn't been able to carry a gun (mental issues).
Affirmative Action: Strongly oppose, someone has to earn their function, and not be offered a function because of quota's. The best person that fits a description should get the job.
Euthanasia: Strongly oppose, it's murder.
Prostitution: Strongly oppose. It's immoral.
Pornography: Strongly oppose. Pornography is unhealthy.
Immigration: Tough but humane. Immigrants are welcome as long as they adhere to the law, and adapt to the culture, traditions and nation.
Criminal justice: I don't know the current system, but I think leave as it is.
Surveillance: Only allowed in case of searching for terrorist threats.
Police: I support law & order, but i'm against racist violence, and that should be no different for people in authority. I'm however strongly against BLM and riotters.

Economic Policy
Minimum Wage: Raise and adjust to inflation. People that work should be rewarded. But it should be adjusted from region to region, because companies need to hire as much people as they can to keep unemployment low. And in rural areas that's harder to do. I believe there should be no federal minimum wage, and that the regions / cities should decide the minimum wage. In certain cities, a minimum wage of 20 dollar is more fitting, while in some rural areas, a minimum wage of 12 euros would benefit people more, in order to keep companies competitive.
Right-to-Work: Support
Tax Rates: Decrease for all. I support a smaller government.
Healthcare: I support universal healthcare, as it's a basic human right, for both Americans and immigrants, even if they reside here illegally. No-one should be denied healthcare service.
Social Security: Decrease. It's a burden on the budget, and I rather focus on getting back to low unemployment levels.
Trade: Protectionist. I believe in making sure that jobs stay in America by implementing import tarrifs for trade goods, to encourage businesses to have a American department.
Environment: Expand nuclear energy. Expand green energy. Expand green infrastructure, and rely on science to deal with the environment. We should not focus on fighting climate change. We should focus on fighting pollution in general. I acknowledge that climate change is real and a threat, but I think the Paris agreement is a scam.
Education: Leave it up to the states, but cancel all study debt, and make college entirely free. No-one should be denied education because their parents cannot afford it. Everyone should get a chance to study. It should even be free for rich people. Having higher educated levels of people benefit us all, and I believe that all people should get the chance to accomplish the American Dream.
Transit: Massively expand and invest in rebuilding our infrastructure. Make it green and modern as well.
Nationalization: Privatize most things, to keep the government small.

Foreign Policy
Foreign intervention: It depends. Focus on diplomacy, but intervention should never be ruled out. Democracy should be spread as much as possible.
Russia: Continue sanctions and sending aid to eastern European countries that are in conflict with Russia such as Ukraine. Update our cyber infrastructure so it isn't so vulnerable to cyber attacks
China: China is a threat. Recognize Taiwan. And treat China as it is, a dictatorship and a false competitor. We should increase sanctions and start a new cold war against China.
Israel: Israel is an ally and has the right to have a homestate.
NATO: Support, but make sure all members pay their contributions. If not leave. America doesn't have an obligation to protect Europe, if Europe fails to see the benefit of appeasing America.
UN: Influence to keep it a democratic and pro-western institution. Having the Saudi's on board of women's rights, is incredibly ridicilous.
Defense budget: Reduce spending

Electoral Reform
Electoral College: Keep
Gerrymandering: Ideally, an independent commission should redraw the districts, but since independency is almost impossible, i think it's part of the benefit of winning a state to draw the districts in your favour, as there is no guarantee an independent commission will truly act independent.
Term limits: Opposed to, except for executive offices.
Voter ID: Support.
Voter registration: Automatic registration
Voting age: Keep as is
Mandatory voting: Against
Statehood: start negotiations to admit DC as a state, but expand D.C. with certain NoVa counties, because NoVa is not representative of Virginia as a whole, and is just D.C. suburbs, and part of D.C. . Puerto Rico should also be a state if they wish too. Greenland should be offered statehood as well. Certain cities should become their own states as well (The big four, Chicago + suburbs, NY + suburbs, LA + suburbs and MI + suburbs). That way, both the cities and the more rural areas in those states will be better represented by their politicians.
Supreme Court: Keep as it is.

Lmao
Weren't you pro-choice and pro-right-to-die until like one month ago?
Also your economic policy, you now support cutting Social Security, "smaller government" and right-to-work laws?
Is this all because of TPUSA? I didn't think your "political identity crisis" was so... thorough.

My views changed a bit. But I wasn't pro-choice. I was in favour of assisted suicide, because I've considered it myself, but I realize that any form of suicide is immoral and just bad, although i can understand it for some diseases (Alzheimer's disease). The problem is you have to give a doctor the authority to basically kill someone. I considered it, but I realized it, it is a very immoral thing to do, and nothing to be proud of, and assisted suicide is just an easy way out. It shouldn't been done for mental illness.

I don't understand right-to-work laws well, but I believe unions are harmful to the interest of workers. I believe in a smaller government, because a big government is very demanding, demands many resources and harms individual rights & freedom. I used to be pro-big government, but I either don't want a police state or a government-run state. I always thought cutting social security is good, because a lot of people are lazy, it demands a lot of resources, and people should save some money to pay their own pension. It's a huge burden on the budget. People need to take their responsability. The government can't babysit all people, and let all people become dependant of the government. So while I do support increasing minimum wage, and expanding labor laws, i'm not supportive of social security anymore. People should be encouraged to work or to start businesses.

Anyway fair enough, what can I say. However the bolded part is simply false, see below.

I'm pro-choice, and abortion clinics should be subsidized by the government. I support assisted suicide as the right to die is a fundamental right. I support free speech, including racist speeches. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that's a fundamental right, otherwise we live in a dictatorship. As long, violence is not promoted, i don't care about fascists speaking at college campuses, providing there is room for debate and for fact-checking. I disagree with the censorship of all groups.

[/quote]

Dang, What a shift. We still agree on a lot though.

Overall: Progressive Democrat
If I could vote I would vote a straight D ticket except for when Greens are available down-ballot.

Social Policy
Abortion: Support. No law can stop someone from having one, and people will go to extreme lengths if they are desperate.
Same-Sex Marriage: Support
Drugs: Decriminalize all drugs and legalize some, not all.
Criminal Justice: Major reforms are needed to move towards actual equality in the US.
Gun Control: Yes, but I do not support elimination of the Second Amendment.
Immigration: There should be some customs and border patrol to keep actual terrorists out of the country, but apart from that, anyone who wants to come to the US should be allowed to.
Police: I support the defunding of the police, but only to the extent of removing excess funds and apportioning those funds to underfunded areas in government.

Economic Policy
Minimum Wage: I strongly support a $15 minimum wage.
Tax Rates: I support increasing taxes on the rich, but not to an extent that they are brought down a tax bracket. Just enough to increase income equality.
Environment: We should cut carbon emissions by over 50% in the first 2 years of a Biden/Harris administration, and we should really start doing things like banning fracking and eliminating the production of gas-powered cars.

Electoral Reform
Electoral College: I strongly support elimination of the Electoral College.
Gerrymandering: Eliminate it.
Voting Age: I support lowering the voting age to 16.
Voter Registration: Automatic
Statehood: The states themself should have the power to decide whether or not they should be admitted into the Union. Before we pass an amendment dictating that, I strongly support statehood for DC, Puerto Rico and Guam.
Supreme Court: I'm neutral at the moment, I would like to see how ACB rules on the court before I make a decision on whether or not the number of SCOTUS seats should be expanded.

Using an edited version of Andriy's. Last time I did this was... 2019? Or even 2018. So def some stuff changed.

Ideology
Social: Moderate-ish?
Economic: Pragmatic.
Foreign Policy: Non-interventionist.

Social Policy
Abortion: I think I'll leave what Andriy put, since this is what I believe pretty much: Pro-life, but abortions can be allowed in cases of rape, incest and when mother's life in danger. This is the issue I have changed the least overall.

Same-Sex Marriage: Support.

Drugs: Opposed to most drugs, but cannabis for personal and medicinal use are okay.

Death Penalty: Opposed.

Gun Control: Current legislation in Argentina I think is okay, but its impossible to enforce; that's more of a failure of the state in guaranteeing safety though.

Affirmative Action: Neutral, really. I need to look at it more deeply.

Prostitution: Legal, but no organized activity.

Euthanasia: Support only if its clear that not euthanizing would lead to more suffering than not.

Immigration: Open to legal, regularized immigration.

Police Issues/Black Lives Matter: I think its clear that black people have been historically disadvantaged in the US, so the protests to recognize this reality are well. However, I also think its clear that actions such as riots and extreme rhetoric and other such stuff are counter-productive.

Free Speech/Political Correctness: Support free speech for everyone. If I support the action of banning someone for what they say or think, someday that will be turned against me instead.

Surveillance: Strongly oppose. One of my biggest fears is increased control and surveillance by the government on people's activities.

Economic Issues
Minimum Wage: Minimum wage adjusted to inflation.

Healthcare: Universal healthcare.

Trade: I think Argentina should take a more liberal stance in regards to trade - I think pragmatically that the protectionist model of the last decades is not fit for today. However, in regards to strategic industries protectionism needs to be maintained. Encourage agricultural export.

Unions: Pro-union

Energy: More is better: both renewable and non-renewable energies should be supported. However, with climate change renewables should be prioritized.

Education: Support mixed public/private schooling system, favouring public education; homeschooling should be available if parents want so regardless.

Taxes: Progressive tax system, streamlined and more efficient: more for the rich, less for the poor. I think we should set a system of tax-free zones through Argentina in order to encourage industry and business.

Foreign Policy. Here I will respond mostly as if I lived in the US; which honestly we all do, given the intense globalization of the last decades.
Afghanistan: Leave.
Iraq: Leave, but should work with the Iraqi government to prevent a return of extremist terrorists.
Syria: Stay out of it.
Cuba: Better relations, lift sanctions.
Malvinas: We should reaffirm our claim to the South Atlantic Islands through diplomatic and peaceful means.
Defense Spending: We should increase the funds of the Argentine military, its outdated and we're falling behind on defense matters. We have Chinese fishing boats preying on our waters for example - a nuclear submarine would be cool to deal with that.

Environment
Climate Change: Prioritize renewable energies, tax polluting companies.

Electoral Issues
Voter ID: Support.

I identify as leftist. I am a registered Democrat and generally unhappily so.

I do not have a secular economic religion any more than I would disregard my toolbox and use a hammer or a screwdriver for ever task.

I like my first responders, roads, and healthcare socialist.
I like my blue Jean's, televisions, and automobiles capitalist.
I believe in strong regulatory structures.
I do not give a crap about national debt other than if it creates high levels of inflation.
I believe the stimulative value of tax cuts is one of the most overstated things probably ever especially when they are granted to people and companies that aren't spending them.
I would refocus government funded research and development much more heavily to the university level and stop socializing that downside for corporations.

Strong Civil Libertarian.

Believe street level law enforcement should be transformed to a focus on peace keeping.
End the stupid and failed drug war. End "Terry" stops.
End the concept of vice with a mix of legalization and decriminalization schemes depending on the need for regulation.
I'm probably more pro-2nd amendment than the NRA. I would rescind the machine gun ban.
Strong but not radical on separation of church and state. People don't have to leave their faith at home but they do have to leave it out of their governing and execution of the law.
I would leave the tax exempt status for churches as long as they stay out of politics but if they want to enter that arena then it goes poof.

Generally dovish on use of force but believe in strong force projection capacity. I don't really believe in a standing army but a professional air force and navy along with a limited number of special forces and Marines can remain.
I would replace the army with reverting back to organized militia.
I am an internationalist and believe we should have strong increasingly interwoven cooperative relationships with democracies around the world.

Climate stabilization is the number one issue in the world.

Figured I'd update this after who knows how many years. In short an alt center leftist, equally globalist and isolationist.

Taxes: Increase taxes on those who make more than $400,000 a year. Slowly transition into a Georgist system.

Trade: Free trade unless you're Russia or China.

Minimum wage: 15 is okay I guess

Healthcare: Universal healthcare now.

Education: Tighten homeschooling restrictions big time, stop funding public schools off of property taxes. Standardized testing must exist but deemphasize it.

Infrastructure: Direct defense spending into this.

Transportation: Same

Unions: Support in theory but are somewhat anachronistic. Police unions in particular are noxious.

Abortion: Nominally pro choice but some of the activism on that end gets pretty bad.

LGBT rights: Obviously fully support

Gun control: Very pro-2A but open carry is cringe (should still be legal) and we need better background checks

Death penalty: Only for high treason.

Prostitution: Honestly don't care much, it's not going anywhere either way. Stop punishing people for it unless there's trafficking/non consensual stuff obviously

Euthanasia: Don't care

Reparations for slavery: They are needed, but the word "reparations" is so toxic they'll have to be called something else

Affirmative action: Usually oppose but there are exceptions.

Free speech: Is vital and should not be touched. Hate speech laws backfire on the protected groups.

Carbon tax: Support.

Paris Climate Accord: Rejoin.

Renewable energy: The future, let's do it.

Fracking ban: Support I guess?

Offshore drilling ban: Support.

Drugs: Legalize weed and psychedelics, decriminalize everything else and focus on treatment.

Voting rights: Universal and 18+, prisoners receive half a vote until release.

Defunding/abolishing the police: We must radically reform police departments and police culture.

CHAZ: Is very silly

Border wall: Huge waste of money.

Deportation: If they pay taxes and have no felonies, leave them be.

DACA: Support, overall a good thing.

Path to citizenship: Support, but it shouldn't be a cakewalk.

Voting rights: After you're a citizen.

Legal immigration: Should be reduced.

Family separation: Strongly oppose, keep families together.

Voter ID: Should be required for everyone born after 1970.

Compulsory voting: Oppose, in a place like America this would end up reducing turnout.

Term limits: Only for the president.

Electoral college: Eliminate and go to the national popular vote.

Russia: Isolate them.

China: Isolate them. Get closer with Japan.

North Korea: Whatever.

Middle East: Leave and never return.

Israel/Palestine: Not our business, stop treating Israel like the 51st state.

Guantanamo Bay: Should not exist.

NATO: We should continue to work closely with our NATO allies.

UN: Not opposed but it's a pretty useless org

Taxes: Increase taxes on those who make more than $400,000 a year.

Trade: Pro-USMCA, anti-NAFTA, mostly pro-free trade

Minimum wage: $11 minimum wage, against $15 minimum wage

Healthcare: Public option added to Obamacare, reluctantly

Education: Anti-voucher for private schools, anti-standardized testing, pro-increased teacher wages, anti-free college for all, anti-common core, anti-universal pre-k

Infrastructure/Transportation: Increased spending, begin research and investment of a high-speed rail

Unions: Support so long as they're not filled with corrupt union bosses and that they're not getting someone re-hired when they're not doing their job

Abortion: Pro-life with exceptions for rape, incest, and when the mother's life is at danger

LGBT rights: Fully support

Gun control: Pro-2nd Amendment, pro-universal background check, anti-gun buyback, anti-armed teachers, pro-banning people on the no-fly list from purchasing a gun, reluctantly in favor of a TEMPORARY assault weapon ban

Death penalty: Only for high treason.

Prostitution: Against, could be swayed though

Euthanasia: Nope.

Reparations for slavery: Nope.

Affirmative action: Nope.

Free speech: MUST be upheld, no questions

Carbon tax: Nope.

Paris Climate Accord: Rejoin ASAP.

Renewable energy: Slowly transition off of fossil fuels and offer incentives for former coal miners

Fracking ban: Nope.

Offshore drilling ban: Yup.

Drugs: Pro-recreational marijuana, reluctantly against recreational use, against decriminalization of most drugs

Voting rights: against 16-year-olds getting the right to vote, against prisoner's getting the right

Defunding/abolishing the police: the "defund the police" movement is the most laughable thing I've seen in quite a while and it's unfortunately tainting the Black Lives Matter movement as anarchists that wish to incite violence.

CHAZ: Nope.

Border wall: Build where it's useful, don't build where not useful

Deportation: If they're non-violent, they follow the law, and they pay taxes, they should be presented options to become legal citizens. However, as long as they follow those 3 requirements, they shouldn't be deported.

DACA: Support.

Path to citizenship: Support, but it shouldn't be a cakewalk.

Voting rights: Once you're a citizen and you don't have a criminal record.

Family separation: Strongly oppose, keep families together.

Voter ID: Should be required for everyone.

Compulsory voting: Not enforceable, participating in democracy should be encouraged and voluntary.

Term limits: 2 consecutive 4-year terms for the President, 6 consecutive 2-year terms for Congress excluding incumbent members of Congress. 2 consecutive 6-year terms for the Senate, excluding incumbent Senators

Electoral college: Reform to a proportional distribution of electoral votes. If you get 55% of the vote, you get 55% of the electoral votes, etc.

Russia: Isolate them.

China: Isolate them. Get closer with Japan.

North Korea: Try to de-nuke them, if possible.

Middle East: We ought to get out, none of our business.

Israel/Palestine: Protect Israel, period.

Guantanamo Bay: Start slowly closing.

NATO: We should continue to work closely with our NATO allies.

UN: Support the organization, some reforms needed badly

Support the ACA (which passed in 2010 without a single GOP vote) and encourage state governors, regardless of party, to support exchanges or whatever it takes to make the ACA "work" for its residents.

Support a slight increase on taxes on high incomes, wealth, and corporations, while reducing taxes on the working poor. Tax unemployment, pension, and welfare benefits, albeit at a low rate.

Support without question the right of anyone to marry whom they want to marry.

Support legal abortion through 20 weeks, without exceptions; after that, leave it to each state.

Limit legal and illegal immigration; taking care of our own should take precedence over (a) taking care of those who come here illegally and (b) the right of business to hire undocumented immigrants and lower wages for working Americans. The fact that so many want to live in the US is undoubtedly a compliment to our way of life (and this fact probably needs to be stressed more in public schools); becoming a US citizen is a privilege, not a right.

At the state level, I would support a progressive voucher system for education, supporting the rights of lower-income parents to make informed educational choices, while granting only limited relief to parents who can easily afford private-school tuition. I recall reading that Michigan Democratic gubernatorial candidate (and later US Congressman) Sander Levin supported this in 1974, as a result, the Michigan Educational Association endorsed his Republican opponent, Gov. William Milliken, who was narrowly re-elected in a Democratic wave year.

Overall Ideology: John Sherman, John Bricker, and Bob Taft Conservative. Adams-Hamiltonian Federalist.
Social: Very conservative
Economic: Syncretic
Foreign Policy: Anti-interventionist

Social Policy:
Abortion: Oppose, except in cases of rape, incest, and the life of the mother. First-trimester chemical abortion is more permissible but should be a rare practice.

Same-Sex Marriage: Oppose.

Drugs: Keep alcohol and tobacco legal. Decriminalize/legalize pot, mild natural substances like khat, kava kava, and kratom. Rehabilitate addicts. Punish traffickers severely.

Death Penalty: Support. For some criminals who have committed very serious crimes and whose guilt is unquestionable, this is a just punishment.

Gun Control: Opposed to any gun control whatsoever.

Affirmative Action: Opposed in all circumstances.

Prostitution:
Opposed in all circumstances.

Euthanasia: Opposed in all circumstances.

Immigration: Zero tolerance for illegal immigration. Illegal immigration hurts workers, communities, and the economy at large.

Police Issues/Black Lives Matter: Policing and systemic racism are not the root causes of American blacks' problems. Economic and cultural decay, exacerbated by faulty public policies, are.

Free Speech/Political Correctness: Free speech in all political/social discussions; strong restrictions on obscenity, libel, and incitement.

School Prayer: It should absolutely be permitted and encouraged.

Muslim Ban: It should depend on the place of origin and type of visa. High-skilled Muslim immigrants from developed, or formerly developed (i.e. Libya, Syria, Iraq), should be permitted. Family or diversity visas should be heavily restricted or eliminate.

PATRIOT ACT: Oppose. End the perpetual warfare state.

Economic Issues

Subsidies: Support industrial subsidies funded by tariffs.

Deregulation: De-regulation only in order to break up monopolies, introduce competition, and drive interest rates down for consumers. Retail banks should be de-regulated to encourage higher savings rates and lower costs for average people.

Monetary Policy: Sound money.

Minimum Wage: Minimum wages should be set by the states, based on their different economies and costs-of-living, not at the federal level.

Healthcare: Fund community health centers, Medicaid, and Medicare for the poor, elderly, and indigent.

Globalization/Trade: The United States should adopt a policy of protectionism on all goods to reindustrialize the country and protect our native workforce.

Deficit/Debt: I'm naturally a deficit hawk but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Campaign Finance Reform: Promote as much transparency as possible, increase reporting requirements, and limit corporate donations.

Unions: Fully support industrial organizing insofar as it serves social goods, like the maintenance of industrial communities,

Energy: Invest in nuclear first, clean fossil fuels (esp. LNG) second.

Education: Vastly reduce educational spending, turn it over to local districts and communities, enable school choice at every level.

Taxes: Lower taxes across the board. Implement a tax on hedge funds, speculators, and

Foreign Policy
UN/Int'l Orgs: Withdraw from everything. Exercises in liberal futility.
NATO: Withdraw. Follow Washington's advice, avoid European entanglements.
Afghanistan: Withdraw immediately. It's the graveyard of empires and the only thing there is death.
Iraq: Withdraw immediately.
Iran: Keep sanctions up indefinitely, let them twist in the wind.
Syria: Withdraw immediately.
Cuba: No recognition, keep sanctions.
Israel: Israel is an ally in the region, but it is a secondary partner and American security concerns must come first.
Palestine: Ignore.
Russia: (See NATO.)

Environment
Climate Change: The only answer is nuclear power, with supplementary clean fossil fuels. International climate accords are a joke.

Electoral Issues

Gerrymandering: Practically unavoidable, as long as the parties never surrender their control over the process.
Term limits: Support for Congress, oppose for the President. ;-)
Voter ID: Support.
DC and PR statehoods: Under no circumstances.

Ideology
Social: Liberal
Economic: Liberal
Foreign Policy: Internationalist

Social Policy
Abortion: Pro-life generally, oppose beyond 20 weeks except in cases of threat to the mother.

Same-Sex Marriage: Support

Drugs: Support legalizing marijuana, decriminalizing most other drugs

Death Penalty: Oppose Strongly

Gun Control: Somewhat support. Support universal background checks, but think the AWB isn't really worth the political fight as it will have little impact on the number of gun deaths in the country.

Affirmative Action: Somewhat oppose. I understand the rationale for and against it.

Prostitution: Somewhat oppose. From what I've seen the data is actually mixed on whether legalizing prostitution decreases or increases sex crimes. Could be convinced either way, not a strongly held position.

Euthanasia: Somewhat oppose. Again, this is not a position I've given a lot of thought to.

Immigration: I am a strong supporter of legal immigration, and favor expanding the immigration system and greatly increasing the refugee cap. Generally support border security, though I believe the wall is a stupid waste of money. I support increased border security funding and don't oppose all deportations.

Police Issues/Black Lives Matter: Strongly favor police reform. Police need more oversight, and qualified immunity needs to be eliminated. Support mandatory body cams. Oppose electing sheriffs.

Free Speech/Political Correctness: Strongly oppose government restrictions on free speech. Don't care much about people getting banned from social media if that is what was meant. I feel like "political correctness" can sometimes go too far, but do not feel that it is too big an issue.

School Prayer: Oppose.

Muslim Ban: Oppose.

PATRIOT ACT: Oppose. Additionally would strongly oppose any proposed "PATRIOT ACT II" if Congress tries to pass one after the Capitol Storming.

Economic Issues
Minimum Wage: Raise it. $15 seems fine in general, but I'm not sure about if it would be good in rural areas with lower costs of living. Ideally it would be tied to regional costs and inflation somehow.

Healthcare: Support Biden's plan, but am generally a bit left of his plan. Oppose banning private insurance, but support

Globalization/Trade: Support TPP and NAFTA

Deficit/Debt: Somewhat anti-deficit. It would be good to reduce it but is not a major concern (especially given the current economic and COVID-related problems).

Campaign Finance Reform: Support

Unions: Support

Energy: Support renewables and nuclear power.

Education: Support Biden's plan

Taxes: Support raising income and capitol gains taxes on the upper brackets.

Foreign Policy

Iraq: leave a small contingent to prevent the return of ISIL

Afganistan:

Iran: Support a return to the nuclear deal.

Syria: Continue support for the Kurds.

Cuba: Aim to end the embargo and open up trade with Cuba. Has the dual effect of raising quality of life and weakening the Communist system.

Israel/Palestine: Reduce military support to Israel. Support a two state solution.

Russia: Strengthen sanctions, support expansion of NATO, particularly in Ukraine. Oppose outright aggression.

China: Support attempts to isolate China, including economically, though I generally support free trade. Would support a larger American foreign aid and investment program to counter China's investments in infrastructure in Asia and Africa. Support using American power to maintain the status quo with ROC and PRC.

Environment
Climate Change: Support Paris Agreement, carbon taxation, and renewable energy.

Electoral Issues
Gerrymandering: Strongly oppose, support nationwide fair redistricting.

Term limits: Oppose for President and Congress.

Voter ID: Support, conditioned on IDs being free and provided to all Americans. Oppose otherwise.

DC and PR statehoods: Support

Social Policy

Abortion: Only if the fetus is non-viable or the mother's life or health is in danger, encourage giving up for adoption in other situations
Same Sex Marriage: Accept as law of the land, support adoptions for couples that get background checks, expand anti-discrimination laws for LGBTQ+
Marijuana: Legalize & tax, but do not decriminalize other drug use, incentivize rehabilitation over punishment
Slavery reparations: Oppose strongly
Stem Cell Research: Support
Death Penalty: Reserve only for very heinous crimes involving murder
Criminal justice reform: Support, release those with non-violent drug offenses on mandatory parole, limit influence of private prison industry
Gun control: Pro 2nd amendment, stricter background checks, mental health issues, ban for people convicted of violent weapons-related crimes, assault weapons ban
Affirmative Action: Oppose
Prostitution: Keep it illegal
Euthanasia: Keep it illegal

Economic Issues

Minimum Wage: Raise minimum to $11 federally
Welfare: Reduce funding slightly
Right-to-Work: Support, anti-union
Taxation: Increased taxes on the rich, tax credit and lower taxes for the middle class, let states decide sales tax, cut property taxes
Healthcare: Support a public option and insurance company funding
Social Security: Keep the retirement age as is
Trade: Support tariffs and other temporary trade barriers until trade becomes more fair or trade deals can be negotiated
Education: More funding, let states decide, get rid of Common Core, higher pay for teachers, eliminate standardized testing, support vouchers
Balanced Budget Amendment: No idea
Transportation: Cut back spending slightly, privatize Amtrak
Infrastructure: Increase spending

Foreign Policy and National Security

I have never written down anything about me here. Today may be as good a day as any for that.

A summary of my political beliefs could be that I have always been interested in and inspired by socialist and social democratic thought more than anything else, because of a series of convictions that may be best condensed with a nice play on words, that is a belief that material inequalities are also inequities and are also iniquities; and that since my religious conversion six months ago the salience of Catholic thought has increased in me and I have been trying to elaborate and morally ground my politics in light of my faith, especially in this very last period.
In addition, on a more fundamental but less political level, I have realized I am mostly a conservative person, as far as emphasis on community, attachment to tradition, belief in moral obligations, and aesthetic preferences are concerned.

I believe socialism can only be achieved through automation, robotics, and emerging technology to allow everyone to live off the wealth produced by publicly owned machines. This young man is convinced that any attempt to build socialism without automation will simply lead to state capitalism so his solution is to remove human labor from the equation with robotics. A strong believer in progress for its own sake techno-socialism supports rapid, unrestrained scientific progress to make the status quo obsolete.
I Am obsessed with freeing people from any need to work by giving their job to robots and often can't shut up about the latest scientific breakthrough.
