Conservatives might have some restraint on violence. In the old days they had no problem rejecting the neo-Nazi and Klan rhetoric of murder and beatings. Fascists consider violence just another political tool.

The American Right is no longer conservative in the old sense. Its use of the word 'conservative' has become a euphemism for callous rejection of everything liberal and humanistic. Edmund Burke would find them appalling.

But keep in mind we're in a thread titled "Why are conservatives always joking about murdering liberals?"  As if mainstream conservatives were constantly joking about murdering their political opponents or that liberals never make the same kind of jokes, which is just stupid.  The "evidence" the OP brings to the table isn't evidence at all and the rest is just anecdote.  Then some other douche jumps in to suggest not all of them are joking, as if some percentage of conservative are seriously plotting the death of liberals.  Another jerkwad claims all conservatives are bad people.

Nope, that's not what I meant. There is a huge gap between wishing to do something (even very strongly wishing so) and actually doing it - mostly because of the obvious risks involved with murdering someone.

That said, the fact that even a handful people go ahead and actually commit murder only indicates that there are many more who would like to.

To be fair, the left has calmed down a lot.  In the 60s and 70s they were some hardcore murdering sons-a-bitches.

and really, political murder/terrorism, at least in the US over the last few decades has been minimal from both sides.  It's much more dangerous to be black than a lefty or Jewish instead of a conservative.  Many many more people are killed for being white than they are for voting a certain way.
