Is it bad that I find the term "addiction to sodomy" funny?

It's a good pickup line. "Hey, are you available tonight? Because I'm addicted to sodomy."

Gotta say, I expected this to come from south of the Mason-Dixon.

There would be no apology if that was the case.

Wow, that second one is vile. (I mean, the other ones are as well, but sadly not all that surprising)

Indeed.  If these remarks had come from a Southerner, all those statements would just be part o' that good ol' Southern way of livin' that don't mean no one no harm, they just love how things used ta be, y'all.

Another knife in the corpse of "the Moderate New England was lost by the GOP when it went rightward" theory. Atleast 50% of the reason is because of demographic changes to area.

Old New England was a far different place. Back before the environmental moved was strong and congregationalism still had a hefty amount of traditionalism to it, New England, particularly the northern part was far different. Throw in the traditionalist catholics into the mix and you have a fairly right wing mix there. Maine did elect Ralph O. Brewster to the Senate afterall.
