Of the other Western states, Oregon trended the most R, Utah the least R.

The middle Northeast, ( New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut) have trended all R in the elections of 1956, 1976, and 1992.
They have trended all D in the elections of 1944, 1960, 1964, 1988, 1996, and 2000.

The lower Northeast, (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland) have trended all R in the elections of 1948, 1956, 1968, and 1988.

The eastern Midwest, (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana), has trended all R in the elections of 1940, 1968, 1976, and 2000.

The eastern South (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina) has trended all D in the elections of 1940, 1968, 1976, 1992, 2004, and 2012.
