Wasn't a fan. She was a moderate hero; one of the more annoying "maverick" attention whores favored by the media, ranking third to McCain and Snowe.

A very hard worker who did her homework and knew her stuff (particularly on transportation and infrastructure issues). Always advocated for things Texas needed and benefited from (like highway funding and NASA) without putting her name on a bunch of pointless projects as people like Robert Byrd and Jack Murtha were wont to do.

Wasn't a fan. She was a moderate hero; one of the more annoying "maverick" attention whores favored by the media, ranking third to McCain and Snowe.
Before you go calling her an attention whore, ask yourself who it was who orchestrated a shutdown of the federal government to draw attention to himself and then read Green Eggs and Ham on the floor of the Senate.

It's a true shame that she lost the primary to the guy who can't even remember his own policies. And says a lot about the Republican primary voters in Texas.

I never said Cruz wasn't an attention whore, nor that I prefer him over Hutchison. Shutting down the government is annoying as well Tongue.

FF. A travesty that she lost to Perry, and a travesty that her replacement is a self-serving, arrogant manchild.

Good by the standards of R-TX and clearly better than Cruz and Perry.

I'm not a fan, but she was exponentially better than her successor (which isn't necessarily saying much, I suppose).

Atlas: Where the Lesser of Two Evils is Good.

Indeed. Let us not forget that she was a Republican politician, which is more important than her being less awful than Ted Cruz.

She was one of the better Republican Senators and was a thousand times better than Ted Cruz, so I guess lean FF overall.

This, and vastly overrated for precisely this reason.
