Black Monday is right around the corner. We've only had Gary Kubiak of HOU fired so far. Who else do you think gets the axe?

Mike Smith and Mike Tomlin aren't being mentioned as being on the hot seat but I figured I'd include them due to their team's poor performance, albeit PIT has improved in recent weeks. Left out Rex Ryan due to reports that he'll be back next year. If you think those reports are bogus, vote "other" and specify. "Other" obviously covers guys not mentioned as well.

I'll post my thoughts in a few.

If you're really feeling bold, post who you think will get the vacant gigs.

Frazier, Shanahan

Allen, Schwartz

write-in: Rex Ryan.

Munchak and/or Schiano could leave for the NCAA

Shanahan for sure. He didn't want to coach this year anyways

Schwartz's future depends on tomorrow, 1 win will help a lot. However the Lions's downfalls these past two years out due a win so he may go.

Dennis Allen is on the hotseat too. The Raiders have improved since last year but the owners might want to get a veteran coach in, Allen was too much of a risk. The whole Pyror deal with the agent might do him in, it makes him look not head coach worthy.

I despise the Bucs but I despise Schiano worse. I hope he gets axed but I don't want them to be better than Carolina either

Ryan may go, but then again he has no talent to use on O.

Given Miami doesn't control their own playoff destiny, that bullying "scandal" may still come back to haunt Philbin if they don't make it... As for Payton, the Saints scored 18.5 points per game on the road, going 3-5. They should make the playoffs, but they should have won the NFC  South and it doesn't look like they will do that. And I bet if a team like Texas (which still doesn't have a coach, Louisville (if their coach is hired elsewhere) or Florida State (See Louisville) Marrone may be contender for any of those openings.

Because the Panthers don't have one of the best defenses in the league or an elite QB... n_n

New Orleans loves Sean Payton - just look at how they stood behind him in Bountygate. He probably has one of the coolest seats in the NFL.

This. Payton isn't going anywhere.

No; Miles' contract is good through 2019.

Contracts are made to be bought out, but Peyton isn't going anywhere.  OTOH, there is a substantial contingent of LSU boosters who don't believe Miles can get them back to the promised land (2007 was a bit flukey).

The Saints lackluster 2012 campaign is material proof that they need Payton. The odds of him being fired are exactly 0%.

Shanahan and Schiano for sure.  Allen and Frazier are good bets too because their owners go through coaches like crazy.  On a hunch I went with Smith too.

Tomlin is NOT going to get fired, that's not how the Steelers do things.

Yeah Tomlin and Payton aren't going anywhere and if Philbin is fired its over the hazing not performance.  Coughlin retires.

Wiz returns and so does Lovie.

Fox did their predictions:

Safe: Garrett, Coughlin, Philbin, and oddly enough Schiano (Penn State wants him apparently and Bucs will give him a bonus! According to Fox anyways..)

Maybe: Allen, Ryan,  (Can't remember the others now, brain freeze. Sorry)

Out: Fraiser, Schwartz, Shannhan.

There's always a surprise or two, but I checked Schwartz, Allen (rhetoric led me to believe there will at least be a major shake-up), Frazier, and Shanny. Rex Ryan is a good possibility. I want to say Smith too, because they had such an implosion and honestly I think they are very over-rated. Coughlin retiring would not shock me, but the NYG will not fire him. Philbin no chance to get fired, especially if they win today, and Tomlin will not get fired.

Shanny made an interesting comment about a week or two ago in a presser I caught part of. He said that he had three personal items in his office: two notebooks and a phone. I figure he's gone first thing in the morning tomorrow.

Voted Schwartz, Shanahan, Allen, Munchak and Fraizer.

I think Rex stays on. I think Schiano saved himself with a turnaround, although I suppose there's a possibility he leaves for another gig.

I think Jerry sticks with Garrett, despite all the reasons not to. He's invested over twenty years in Garrett being his coach: he was allowed to sit in on coaches meetings as a player and was hired as OC a few years ago before a head coach was even hired. Plus, Jerry loves his "yes" men.

If Schwartz, doesn't get fired it will be an absolute joke but it's the Lions so...

Someone not mentioned is Chudzinski of the Browns. Reports have risen that the ownership is unhappy with him, despite it still being his first year. I think he's done a pretty good job with what he has been given and deserves to stay on. Same with Allen in OAK, although I do think he'll get canned.

The really unfortunately thing about the NFL these days is the lack of patience. In a "win now" league, it's really hard for coaches and players to develop without feeling the pressure.

I really doubt the Glazers are going to fire Schiano and start over - especially with all the injuries, and an ineffective quarterback for the first part of the season, and MRSA.

Schwartz is prob gone after epically falling today. Frazier may still go but if he does he did on a win.

Philbin will be looked at now, they blew it. He has improved them so he may stay.
