Oh, he definitely has her beat in the desperation department. I'm just talking about him sh**tting the bed to the point where voting for him wouldn't really matter.

Why do you support Tom Cotton and Cassidy?
I might change the endorsements to Green candidates in both states if there are any who decide to run, but I just can't see myself endorsing these two Senate Democrats. It's based on a number of issues including the controversial background check vote and not invoking support for same-sex marriage (Pryor) and attacks on the ACA (Pryor & Landrieu). I would rather have Pryor kicked out than Landrieu, but Landrieu I still see as a traitor for someone who actually did vote for the bill back in 2010, yet proposed a horrible bill that would allow people to stay on their current plans which goes completely against what the law stands for. She also supports the Patriot Act.

That doesn't mean Cotton and Cassidy are great candidates though or even close to that. They're horrendous, but endorsing them is the best way to join the cause of unseating Mark Pryor.

Much too early for too many races for me. However I do want to keep this thread alive by the time the primaries start rolling.

I don't understand why Democrats are cheering for Tea Party candidates in safe GOP states - that will only add to the partisanship in Congress. I guess it comes down to whether "the good of the country" is more important than "the good of the party".

Alabama: Jeff Sessions (R)
Alaska: Dan Sullivan (R)
Arkansas: Tom Cotton (R)
Colorado: Owen Hill (R)

Delaware: Chris Coons (D)

I don't understand why Democrats are cheering for Tea Party candidates in safe GOP states - that will only add to the partisanship in Congress. I guess it comes down to whether "the good of the country" is more important than "the good of the party".

Because just like in Florida in 2000 and in NH they play spoilers.  3rd party or splinter candidates can help major parties win. Bevin in KY and Pressler can cost the GOP the Senate.

Several reasons: having a Tea Party candidate like McDaniel in Mississippi can change a safe GOP state into a not-quite-so-safe state, forcing national groups to spend money there at the very minimum, and occasionally letting the Dems win states they're not supposed to win (Indiana), but at a minimum having a Tea Party candidate gives them a national stage and can shift the national mood into a more anti-GOP direction (Akin).

Alabama: DW Perry (L) (Atlas's favorite son. Sessions is a joke, but Perry is a "statesman")

DW Perry's always been in NH.

He ran for office in Alabama, if I recall.
