Is Mr. Robertson in jail? Did he have to pay a fine for his words? I don't think so. His first amendment rights were not infringed on. His employer fired ("suspended") him based on his actions.

So then, the only reason people are upset are because they either agree with what he said, or believe he should get away with whatever he wants. Or a combination of both. And both are unacceptable. A&E did the right thing, no matter how much you love the guy. Sorry. I can't go off and call everyone slurs, and give racist rants in public and then cry that my first amendment rights were violated when I get punished.

I'm just glad the blogs I frequent have moved on from this and are now fixated on Utah.
