how do you work these out? you said before but I can't remember how or where.

I compare 'our' margin with the real one and perform the same swing in all states. If the difference, like it was here, is 14% compared to 6% in real life, I deduct 8 points from Bush margin in all states. And see what happens... Wink

Clinton needs a 20% lead in this poll to take Utah.
And he needs a 23% to take NEbraska.

One more Clinton vote and it looks like a 538-0 Sweep.

What made Clinton a low-life?  Gettin' some?  HE was one of the better presidents we've ever had.  Republicans were about the only people in the world that didn't like him.  International crowds went nuts for the guy.  Bush gets protests.  Clinton was the man.

I just ran across this. I'd like to see it.

The most effective ad never aired was made for Ross Perot in 1992. It featured a rainbow coalition of average Americans making homemade signs and working a sidewalk booth for Perot. It would have made a real impact if it had been aired, but Perot rejected it because it was not substantive enough. —HOWARD WOLFSON, DEMOCRATIC CONSULTANT

I don't think that Clinton was terrible on the substantive issues of his presidency, but he was the epitome of "defining deviancy down" and I therefore think his presidency will have a long-term negative effect on the country.  In a society that has problems with personal responsibility, and a propensity for individuals to blame other people for all their problems, Clinton accelerated this trend in a number of ways.  This is just what the country did not need.  He was the perfect reflection of American society during his time, for better and for worse.

So I think it's a huge exaggeration to say that he is one of our better presidents of all time.  I think he will shrink in significance as time goes on because he preferred to bask in the short-term glory of an economic expansion that he did not really cause, rather than deal with emerging problems, not the least of which was the terrorist threat.

I also don't find the acclaim of foreign citizens, many of whom are not really friendly to the US, to be the measure of whether a president is good or not.

Perot, in retrospect. In actuality I voted for Andre Marrou. I really admire Admiral Stockdale (Perot's running mate) since I once worked for him in the Navy. He is far more intelligent than either Gore or Quayle but you wouldn't have known it from the debate. Great man but lousy debater.

Finally, a Perot voter. Smiley

Yeah. I mean, I never really understood your love for Perot if I'm honest... why?!

I figured we needed a businessman to lead us out of the sad economic state we were in in 1992.

Businessman don't really make great politician. I mean look at the current mayor of NYC.

Bloomberg's not terrible, he's no Rudy though.

There we agree, Bush has the chance with a successful second term to be a great president, Clinton was good president for peaceful times but he never had the chance to rise the occasion, Bush has that chance and despite a few set backs he does well.

Hillary is a liability and I hope that Giuliani runs and beats her in 2006.

Clinton brought scandals to the White House.  I mean really do u think people r going to remember him for his policies or Monica? I'd say the latter.  And we haven't heard of a Bush scandal yet.  The Clintons are just nasty, power hungry people.

Uh...I remember Clinton for his policies. It's kind of unfair if you are inferring that his policies should be ignored just because of the scandal, as I'm sure any Nixon fan can tell you.

I was a little too young to vote in 1992.  Would have voted for Clinton.  Didn't trust Perot and couldn't forgive Bush Sr. for raising taxes.  Clinton came into office on a pledge to cut taxes then raised them further.  In retrospect definately for Bush.
