This took me a little while to complete, but I gathered all the racial/ethnic data from the 2010 U.S. Census for every county in the United States and decided to find all the counties where minorities were the majorities to see if Mitt Romney won any of them and how many, if so.

• There are 96 majority black/African American counties; Barack Obama won 95 of these counties,  and yes - Mitt Romney won one majority black county: Claiborne Parish, Louisiana.
• There are 81 majority Hispanic/Latino counties; Barack Obama won 41 of these counties and Mitt Romney won 40 of these counties. This surprised me, but many of the counties Romney won were rural counties in Texas.
• There are 28 majority Native American/Alaskan Native counties; Barack Obama won 24 of these counties, while Mitt Romney won four: Bennett County, S.D., Jackson County, S.D., Mellette County, S.D., and San Juan County, Utah.

I also looked at some plurality counties as well.
• There are 34 plurality white/Caucasian counties; Barack Obama won 30 of these counties while Mitt Romney won four: Bristol Bay Borough, Alaska, Navajo County, Ariz., Mitchell County, Ga., and Leake County, Miss.
• There are 16 plurality black/African American counties; Barack Obama won all 16 of them.
• There are two plurality Asian counties; Barack Obama won one (Honolulu County, Hawaii) and Mitt Romney won one (Aleutians East Borough, Alaska).
• There are three plurality Native American/Alaskan Native counties; Barack Obama won two of these (Blaine County, Mont., and Robeson County, N.C.) while Mitt Romney won one (Adair County, Okla.).
• There is one plurality Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian county (Kalawao County, Hawaii), which was carried by Barack Obama.

I think the biggest surprise that sticks out to me is Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. Looking back at previous elections, Bill Clinton won the county both times in 1992 and 1996, but it's gone Republican since 2000.

Claiborne Parish has a state prison, so a substantial segment of the African-American community can't vote.

What was the breakdown in and out of Texas?

Off topic-but isn't Claiborne Parish home to Angola State Prison?

No that's W. Feliciana which is 46% African American by population but voter registration is 2-1 white (4900-2400).  Claiborne is 51% African American but voter registration is 4900-4000 white.  The prison isn't as large as Angola but does obviously impact the voting eligible population.
