Finally, I managed to get a decent Trump win in "Impossible":

https://www.americanhistoryusa.com/campaign-trail/game/333628

Candidate           Electoral Votes    Popular Votes   Pop. Vote %
---- Donald Trump   322                           65,435,041   49.09
---- Hillary Clinton   216                           62,932,902   47.22
---- Gary Johnson   0                               3,273,708     2.46
---- Jill Stein            0                               1,644,318     1.23

Funny, I got the exact same map as you, even though I won the popular vote by 2 million less!

That's the Electoral College for ya.

CHOKIN' HILLARY:

Start: Clinton/Warren vs. Trump on Impossible

Round 1: Acceptance speech just an attack on Trump
First Campaign Stop: Arizona (Trump +10)
Round 2: Have Obama just focus on attacking Trump
Campaign Stop: Texas (Trump +12)- Campaigns saying we should have stayed in Iraq
Campaign Stop: NC (Trump +8)- Campaigns for $15 minimum wage
Campaign Stop: GA (Trump +15)- Announces that she won't "dignify Donald Trump" by debating him and announces support for all methods of protest against him
Campaign Stop: IA (Trump +8)- Reiterates her former support for free trade and globalization
Campaign Stop: OH (Trump +11)- Says that she wants nothing to do with Obama and continues support of free trade
Campaign Stop: PA (Trump +10)- Rescinds support for universal health care and says that she doesn't want Bernie on the campaign trail
Campaign Stop: NH (Trump +13)- Avoids any real controversy, for once, but attacks Trump
Campaign Stop: FL (Trump +12)- Announces opposition to BLM and Syrian refugees
Campaign Stop: MN (Trump +8)- Opposes the UN and announces goal to bomb Syria as much as possible
When she decided to go to MN, there were some true tossups, including OR, WA, IL, and NJ
Campaign Stop: OK (Trump +51)- Decides to sound like Trump on debt and the wall (even the Mexico paying part)
Campaign Stop: IL (Trump +9)- Announces final round of campaign stops, focusing on Florida (where Trump has a massive lead in the polls), believing the polls to be wrong

Election Night:

Closest States:
New York- Trump + 0.18
Rhode Island- Trump +0.23
New Mexico- Trump +0.95
California- Clinton +2.10
Maryland- Trump +2.61
Vermont- Clinton +3.56

Oklahoma was almost less close than Washington DC, and there were also five more R>70 states (WY, WV, AL, TN, and KY), with MS just barely missing 70%.

Final Results:
Trump: 473 EV, 57.8%
Clinton: 65 EV, 38.3%

Hillary is a Manchurian Candidate for the GOP.

I tried that same strategy and did even more horribly than you did. I preformed better in the popular vote but CRASHED in the electoral vote. Hell, I even lost California by over one percent! Donald better be happy that I gave him an even bigger win than Reagan 1984.

Donald Trump/Scott Brown - 371 EVs
Hillary Clinton/Elizabeth Warren - 167 EVs

This game was my best one, although in a few others I was able to snatch DE (didn't happen here, though).

Percent Republican:

NOTE: I got 11.4% in DC, but the mapmaker doesn't have a >10% option

https://www.americanhistoryusa.com/campaign-trail/game/411795

I played as Donald Trump with Chris Christie in Normal mode. Initially things were rough and there appeared to be little chance of victory. However, I was able to gain momentum after a good performance in the debates. My main strategy involved balancing between the base and the swing voters by emphasizing my anti TPP position and attacking Clinton for that and emphasizing myself as an outsider against a corrupt opponent but at the same time also emphasizing myself as being a strong conservative, such as by nominating Ted Cruz to the supreme court. On other things like abortion and the Muslim ban, my responses were more moderate. In terms of the electoral college, my path to victory focused on winning all the Romney states, plus Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, Iowa and Wisconsin, which is where I focused campaign visits.

By the time of the election, the polls were extremely close. I had gained sizable leads in Ohio and North Carolina, but I led in Iowa, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire by very narrow margins. I was narrowly losing Michigan, Minnesota and Colorado and in Virginia we were tied. Therefore, either side could have theoretically won, by I definitely had an advantage.

However, after the results had come in, I had won by a very good electoral college margin, 322-216. In the popular vote though, things were a lot closer, however I was able to narrowly win the popular vote 49%-48.1%. The closest state was Michigan which I won by 0.25% or 12,171 votes. I did better than 92.7% of the games that have been played with the same candidate and difficulty level.

1976

Governor Jimmy Carter (D-GA)/Senator Frank Church (D-ID): 506

President Gerald Ford (R-MI)/Senator Bob Dole (R-KS): 32

Played as Jimmy Carter after picking Frank Church as my running mate. As you can see, won in a landslide.

2016 election, winning because of 900 votes in Wisconsin, a real nailbiter.
