First, I'd like to congratulate Mr. X, Siren, Sibboleth, and Inks on their election victories. I look forward to working with them in the Assembly. I'd also like to thank Hifly, Shua, JCL, and OAM for their hard fought, issues based campaigns. I hope they consider running for office again.

Here are some of the issues I hope to tackle in the Assembly:

Financial Education: Mideast youth are sorely in need of financial education. After high school they are targeted by lenders and can make poor financial decisions that will affect the rest of their lives. We need to give these kids a fighting chance, which is why I will be introducing a bill similar to Speaker Scott's Financial Education bill to the assembly.

Post-Secondary Education
We all know how difficult it is for families to afford college educations for their children. That's why I will be introducing a tax shelter and matching government grants to help poorer families save for college/trade school.

Child Care
I will introduce a Canadian style subsidy for parents of young children. They can use this money to pay for daycare, a babysitter or help a parent to stay home.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Atlasians, here is a sneak preview of the financial education bill I will be introducing in the Assembly next week. H/T to Speaker Scott of the IDS for providing inspiration for this bill.

A good idea.  I think most schools were like mine, where some of this was shoved into a week or two in a government class, if that, during Sophomore year of all times.  Putting it in senior year is definitely a better place.

After much thought, I have decided to endorse Senator Tmthforu94 in the upcoming At-Large Senate election.

Senator Tmth has been a strong advocate for Atlasian education and has fought hard for choice in education. He has also been a tireless advocate for effective regional reform, voting for proposals that will enhance game play and not limit power to a few leftists in a unitary state.

Most importantly Tmth works well with other parties, voting with bills proposed by the left on occasion including one that the left's own Senators couldn't be bothered to vote for Tongue.

For the reasons outlined above and many others, I will be giving my first preference to Senator Tmthforu94 and encourage my fellow Atlasians to the same.

I have decided to endorse Lumine for Midwest Senate. Now some of you may be thinking "DC, who cares? You're a prominent socon. TNF hates socons and regularly tries to outlaw your way of life. You'd vote for a bag of lettuce over him." Now that may be true, but this endorsement is not just an Anybody But TNF vote. Lumine has been a consistent fiscal moderate,  a strong advocate for religious liberty, and most importantly he's a statesman who won't spend all his time vilifying other politicians. I would be proud to have him serve in the Senate.

Statesman is perhaps one the best things they have said to me in Atlasia (and it's certainly better than "do-nothing centrist"), so I am grateful for your words, DC. As Senator Tmthforu said, keep up the good work!

You have my endorsement for re-election. Your thoughtful and pragmatic approach to the issues facing the Mideast is a boon for the Assembly.

Friends, I must point out that TNF has yet again made inflammatory comments. This time he is supporting French workers who kidnapped their bosses as a negotiating tactic. Federalists, Progressives, Democratic-Republicans, and yes even Labor voters can agree that crime is not an appropriate negotiating tactic.

The time has come for the Midwest to reject the extremism of the hard left and vote for a proper Senator in Lumine!

Oh what's this, TNF is calling his opponents Nazis. I wish I could say I'm surprised, but alas my expectations were already extremely low.
