It starts in 1960 (and this isn't supposed to be that plausible, just fun):

1960:

Nixon/Scranton: 53%, 355 electoral votes
Smathers/Kennedy: 46%, 182 electoral votes

1964:

Nixon/Scranton: 56%, 348 electoral votes
Johnson/(Pat)Brown: 44%, 190 electoral votes

1968:

Scranton/Baker: 51%, 290 electoral votes
Brown/RFK: 49%, 248 electoral votes

1972:

Scranton/Baker: 60%, 404 electoral votes
Wallace/Udall: 38%, 134 electoral votes

1976:

Baker/(William)Cahill: 52%, 338 electoral votes
Carter/(Stuart Lee)Udall: 47%, 200 electoral votes

1980:

(Mo)Udall/(Arthur)Link: 49%, 281 electoral votes
Baker/(William)Cahill: 49%, 257 electoral votes

1984:

(Mo)Udall/(Arthur)Link: 58%, 385 electoral votes
Scranton/Weicker: 42%, 153 electoral votes

1988:

Scranton/Simpson: 54%, 307 electoral votes
Gore/Hart: 45%, 231 electoral votes

1992:

Scranton/Simpson: 59%, 404 electoral votes
Clinton/Hollings: 41%, 134 electoral votes

More to come later.

They only won two elections between 1860 and 1912.

That was due to reconstruction, and the fact that many politicians who could have become successful democrat candidates had aligned themselves with the confederacy and werent allowed to run for public office after the war.

Well, it's been 26 years and they have only won twice. At this rate...you never know.
