What's that website people use to make banners?  I've used it before I just can't remember.

Here's one.  I was inspired by reading about the medieval Icelandic "Free State" Commonwealth, and their law code known as the "Grey Goose" laws, which I found sounded evocative.

any thoughts?  other concepts?

I really like it.

The only potential qualm I have is with its use of an avian. Currently, the Federalists have a bird in its party logo, and I noticed PJ has an owl in his Progressive Union signature.

That being said, I have no other objection and quite like the logo.

To those wondering, I have been working on a platform proposal and am almost finished. Smiley

For all my rage, I'm still nothing more than a bird in a cage.

Maybe it is a subliminal message.

Wrote a good half of this while I was drinking the other night, so forgive me if it reads odd.

Anybody think this ought to be modified/expanded? In my experience platforms are seldom (if ever) taken into consideration beyond the initial founding of a party, so I'm not too particular about it.

I would like to thank both Flo and shua for their logos - they will be taken into consideration when the time comes for a vote.

"Polygamist couples" is a bit of a misnomer, no?

I like Dallasfan's platform, but here are a few things I think we should consider adding:

The Democratic-Republican Party acknowledges the need for public services in certain areas of society. However, we believe that these services should be, whenever possible, funded by direct user-fees rather than out of a general fund. We believe that a user-fee-based system of funding allows public services to be funded more efficiently and more fairly.

The Democratic-Republican Party rejects the notion that bigger is always better. Some in Atlasia would have us believe that we can solve society's problems simply by enlarging the size of government, political jurisdictions, and so forth. We deny this, and recognize the need for a careful balance of power between larger entities and smaller ones.

And while I like the platform's stand against totalitarian social regulations, perhaps we could condense those into something simpler and more comprehensive. How about:

The Democratic-Republican Party generally supports the legalization of victimless crimes. If an action or activity doesn't constitute aggression against other human beings, we believe that individuals ought to be allowed to engage in it.

Sorry for the delay for the past few days.

I like Deus Naturae's suggestions, though I would need to see what the revised edition would look like in full.

Where does this party stand on environmental issues?

I hadn't done extensive reflection upon that. I'm open to seeing some suggestions from my colleagues, though as I've noted before, platforms are often swept under the rug soon after ratification.

Unless anybody has any other suggestions for a logo, I'd be willing to hold a vote for that, though I'm more concerned with the At-Large endorsements, since I believe the election is upon us soon.

Disclaimer: I plan on preferencing other candidates in addition to Goldwater and shua, but this is as to who I feel deserve the "endorsement" of the party.

As per homelycooking, no, though I thought I had seen a thread of his somewhere. Perhaps he ought to be removed from the ballot, though I don't think it makes a substantive difference in all likelihood.

(If we didn't have a candidate from our party running, endorsing PiT would be a no-brainer, but I think we should stick with Mecha.)

Now is probably the best time to close the endorsement vote for Senate. Looking back on it, I didn't articulate too specifically how to endorse for STV Elections (Does homely even enforce this any more?) However, there seems to be a general prevailing opinion that shua, Goldwater, and Tmthforu are endorsed for At-Large Senate in that respective order.

The vote for IDS Emperor seems more contested (3-2 per my count.)
