I like Deus Naturae's suggestions, though I would need to see what the revised edition would look like in full.
Well, here's what I came up with:

I took out the public urination bit because I thought that might be too specific, but if people want to put that back in, I certainly wouldn't object.

I like your amended platform, Deus.

For the record, the only reason I included a plank on public urination is because most people in the game are probably unaware of the real life implications of public urination laws (in some states one can be registered as a sex-offender for doing so.)

That being said, I realize that such a plank is overspecific for the type of platform I had in mind, so I can go along with removing it.

I was updating a few pages on the wiki and I noticed that your party doesn't have one yet. Since I needed to set a color code to update the Senate History page, this has now been rectified.

Feel free to change anything, obviously. (I know that Shua's logo is only tentative at this point, for instance.) I wanted to bring this to your attention so that your party can adjust the page as it sees fit.

Thanks a bunch, Averroës!

With regards to the IDS Emperor Race, it looks as if the party endorses PiT by a vote of 3-2.

I'll now open up a vote for a platform and a logo.

Shall the party adopt the platform as proposed by Deus Naturae?

[ ] Yes
[ ] No

Logo:
[ ] shua's proposition
[ ] Flo's proposition
[ ] None of the Above

Voting shall last for 48 hours.

I'll also be taking a closer look at the by-laws and refining them in the coming days, though I don't think it's too pressing a matter, sans At-large elections.

By a unanimous vote, the party votes to adopt the proposed platform.

By a vote of 3-1, the party votes to adopt shua's logo.

First off, I'm a Federalist. I'm here to ask a few questions regarding y'all's party, nonetheless. I haven't read much of this thread at all, but I'd like to know if the party has any specific position on lowering the drinking, voting, smoking, and driving ages.

What should our policy be on endorsements and primaries?

Sorry I did not respond to this with a little more brevity, my friend.

I believe the Progressive Union has something similar, but what about Approval Voting for At-Large endorsements? Perhaps requiring a threshold of 80% and a cap on how many candidates can be endorsed for a given election.

I remember when Libertas' Fusion Ballot act had gotten passed, but I believe that's since been amended/done away with, and as I also understand it homely no longer enforces it. Perhaps endorsements should just be a symbolic gesture?

I can only speak for myself here, but I imagine the sentiment of the party would be towards liberalizing such laws. As I recall, the Drug Reform Act of 2013 did away with the Regional Drinking Age Act and set a nationwide drinking age of 18 (before this it was 16 in the Northeast) so I think that would be something that Democratic-Republican Senators would work toward changing.

Also, welcome RosettaStoned!

How does everybody feel about these revisions?

Also, both Labor and the Federalists have IRC channels. How do you guys feel about establishing one for the party?

Should we use Instant Run-off or Approval voting for the Mideast Assembly endorsements?

I would like to, though we've yet to approve of the by-law amendments to do so - we'll have to do it the same way we did At-Large Senate.

Voting is closed.

The party has voted unanimously to endorse the Spiral/TJ ticket.

The party has also voted to endorse all four Federalists, and afleitch for Mideast Assembly.

The party has voted unanimously to adopt he amended by-laws.

Hopefully this provides a bit of clarity for future endorsements. Smiley
