With these numbers, will there be any Republicans in the City Council?

Just over 20 thousand vote lead for Obenshain (1.04%). He will, probably, win, but it is quite likely to get in a recount area. BTW, what are the recount rules in Virginia?

With just 38 precincts left, Obenshain´s lead is back over 1% (22 thousand or so). He wins.

Looks like Lhota is winning Staten Island lol.

Also de Blasio is apparently giving his entire speech in both English and Spanish rofl

Republicans have long been, locally, the Staten Island Independence Party. Lhota should have given his concession in the Island dialect Smiley

On the current trends, the Republicans will be down to 2 seats in the City Council (both from the Island, of course).

With just 26 precincts left, Obenshain is ahead by just over 15 thousand votes (0.75%). So, recount is not out of the question, at least.

They do seem to have a chance of making it three; district 48 is very close and they were leading earlier.

Yeah, those Russians. Still, even that would be a net loss of 25% of their current strength (on top of a recent defection, as it is).

20 precincts to go - and Obenshain lead is down to 12.5 thousand (0.59%). He will be ahead at the end of the night - but barely. Recount is quite likely.

it says 20 precincts left but when you look at the counties they are almost all reported.  I don't see any counties with a lot of precincts left.  I think that might be an error.

Actually, the detailed data shows quite a few precincts left (more than the 14 now on the aggregate score). But most of those are in Obenshain counties (including 5 in Craig).

I do not know what happened, but Washington Post website is showing Obenshain lead down to just 1357 votes - basically down to nothing. This is incredible!

And on the Virginia election website the lead is down to 7,007 votes (0.33%). With 12 precincts left.

Most of what is left, though, is Obenshain country.

I am pretty sure the recent tally changes by AP come from all sort of adjustments/corrections. Too few precincts left, and they are still changing. This is a recount.

Herring ahead by 616 votes according to AP. Obenshain is still ahead according to the board of elections, though (by some 7,500 votes).

Whatever.

There are still 3 Republicans in the NY City Council. In addition to the two Islanders, Ulrich survived in Queens. So, only one pick-up for the Dems. Still, 48:3 is a decent performance for them Smiley
