95-5 black voters. That is a shocking stat for the republican party to take in.

Here's a good chart of county result benchmarks, based on the last three elections and a hypothetical T-Mac 7.5% win: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AvOrrxBeaarVdFQ1NGJLa1UyMVpRYjZTTVZ1aVE2V0E&toomany=true#gid=0

Let's see how Christie does. Cuccinelli was always going to go over like a lead ballon with blacks.

Only 1% of voters lack a high school diploma, but 63% have at least a Bachelor's? Pants on fire!

Northam is leading Jackson with the same vote that has Cuccinelli up by a little bit, lol!

Nah that's pretty par for the course for the last 4 decades, give or take 5%

New wave of exit poll numbers coming in, Obama's approval is now 48-52 in the updated exits.

Looks like a lot of Democratic late voters. Hallelujah!

So, it looks like Big Mac will win fairly comfortably and without much suspense. Anybody care to predict individual counties/ind cities to make it more interesting? Can he carry Virginia Beach? Anything west of I-81?

Not much use considering it doesn't take 3rd party vote for the numerical benchmarks.

Has any republican ever got lower than 5% of the vote from the african community in a state wide election?

Maybe McCain or Gilmore in 2008.

7% in, Kook leads by 14%, the Lt Gov race is a tie, and Obenshain leads by 15%

Interesting that Obenshain doesn't seem to be doing any better than Kook so far...

That's not quite true. Republicans never really did this poorly with blacks pre-Obama. When Bill Clinton beat Bob Dole in a blowout in '96, he only won the black vote 84%-12% for example.

Obenshain better do substantially better than Cooch in the NOVA counties yet to report or he's toast.

Yeah, though to be fair that's exactly where you'd expect him to do better than Cooch. So we'll see...

Oh I agree totally. But my point is he should also be doing better than a single point over Cooch even downstate, so......

Obenshain is doing 5-6 points better than Cooch according to the State Board of Elections' numbers, which are running ahead of the AP tally.

First big Dem victory of the night. Dems capture the St. Petersburg mayor's office from the GOP in Florida; good warm up act for the House special.

With 9% in...

McAuliffe (D): 39.5%
Cuccinelli (R): 52.0%
Sarvis (L): 8.4%

Herring (D): 42.1%
Obershain (R): 57.9%

Northam (D): 48.5%
Jackson (R): 51.5%

Some rural republican parts are in. Seeing as these are rural republican parts, these are not good for republicans!
