Currently five Republican delegates in Virginia leading with less than 51% of the vote. F[inks]ing gerrymanders.

Proposition 5's winning by just 8% now. Maybe there's hope.

De Blasio's closed the gap a bit since I posted that though.

I count +3 in the House of Delegates, assuming current results hold:

HD-02 (51-49, 95% reporting)
HD-31 (51-49, 100% reporting)
HD-86 (51-49, 100% reporting)
HD-93 (52-48, 92% reporting)

Minus an uncontested Republican pickup.

It's leading by about the same percentage in Westchester County, which is usually a good belwether in statewide elections.  It will pass.  Good jobs will stay in the Adirondacks!  Smiley

The absentees have been counted already, no? It's just provisionals we're waiting for.

Interesting that VA polling was 4.2% too D in 2013 and 4.1% too D in 2009.  I think this was more a matter of public pollsters failing to account for how skewed odd-year vs. presidential turnout is than anything about McAuliffe, Cuccinelli or Obama.

Yet pollsters got the Lt. Gov and AG races more or less correct. Probably a "shy tory" effect for Kooch.

Kooch has not called T-Mac and has no plans to do so. The poor guy must be too busy crying that he won't get to oppress women for the next four years.

Herring now leads by 115 votes, after the Richmond board has finished its re-canvassing.

JohnnyLongtorso, who used to post here and is one of my all-time favorites, did a good diary over at DKE on the Democrat's failure to make tangible gains in the House of Delegates.

Wow. That's really pathetic and annoying. Great article though.

It's really frustrating to look at how close a lot of those Republican wins were.
