My childhood quality of life increased exponentially after my parents split. Living in a house with two parents who are constantly screaming at each other isn't the ideal so many people seem to think it is.

I'd like to clarify my position on divorce; I want to restrict and regulate it, not ban it.

It is a consistent part of my overall philosophy; people often don't make good long term decisions and it costs society dearly. Therefore some incentives and restrictions are required to promote a healthier civilization. It's roughly the same reason why I support mandatory contributions to retirement plans like Social Security.
