The article also mentions that FPÖ and ÖVP voters are slightly more opposed than in favour of gay adoption rights. SPÖ, Greens, NEOS voters are strongly in favour.

60-34 agree - "Today, kids are being mobbed more in school than before."

I think the word you might have been looking for was bullied.

Ah yeah, that is the right word.

"mobbed" is a Germanized English-sounding word like "handy" for mobile phone that actually has a completely different meaning in English ... Tongue

I just got an e-mail back from Market for party breakdown in the gay-rights related questions:

"Gay couples - 2 men, 2 women - should be able to marry."

SPÖ-voters: 76-22 agree
ÖVP-voters: 44-54 disagree
FPÖ-voters: 52-39 agree
Green-voters: 80-17 agree
NEOS-voters: 63-33 agree

"Gay couples - 2 men, 2 women - should be able to adopt children."

SPÖ-voters: 73-23 agree
ÖVP-voters: 40-52 disagree
FPÖ-voters: 36-50 disagree
Green-voters: 69-27 agree
NEOS-voters: 62-34 agree

David Pfarrhofer noted in his mail that these subsamples must be taken with a grain of salt, considering the overall sample consisted of only 603 surveyed.

He didn't submit numbers for the Team Stronach, because only 4% of the 603 would currently vote for the TS - and a breakdown of 24 people would make no sense.

Also interesting that FPÖ voters support gay marriage and ÖVP voters not.

Previous polls have shown Austrian support for Gay Marriage close to 70%, and at the same time in favour of adoption with ca. 60-65%.

I guess this has to do with the fact that the previous polls were ONLY about these questions, while the poll above asked a TON of different family-related questions at the same time, as you can see in the chart above.

Not that they are completely different, could also be MoE.

The party breakdown in this same poll was:

25% SPÖ, 24% FPÖ, 23% ÖVP, 12% Greens, 8% NEOS, 4% Team Stronach, 2% BZÖ, 2% Others

If my math skills are not completely off, then the gay marriage support must be around 60-15 approve in the 8% that is voting for Team Stronach, BZÖ and Others (KPÖ, Pirates).

Would make sense ...

Why is there such a huge difference in gay marriage/gay adoption for FPO voters?

Margin of error I guess, because of the small sub-samples.

But adoption support is generally lower than marriage support.
