This is a list of diversity inclusion in all of the 50 US states. The way I've measured diversity inclusion - or you could possibly also call it a post-racial or cosmopolitan states - is by taking the percentage of white (non-Hispanic) citizens and divide it on the percentage of citizens who've told the last US Census of 2010 that they are of mixed race.

2010 list on Post Racial/Diversity index per state (+D.C.):

1. Hawaii: 0.96
2. California: 8.18
3. Alaska: 8.78
4. New Mexico: 10.95
5. Nevada: 11.51
6. Oklahoma: 11.64
7. Washington D.C.: 14.2
8. Washington: 15.43
9. Texas: 16.78
10. Arizona: 17

11. Maryland: 18.86
12. New York: 19.43
13. Colorado: 20.59
14. Oregon: 20.66
15. New Jersey: 21.96
16. Virginia: 22.34
17. Rhode Island: 23.15
18. Florida: 23.16
19. Delaware: 24.19
20. Kansas: 26.07
21. Georgia: 26.62

22. Connecticut: 27.38
23. Illinois: 27.7
24. North Carolina: 29.68
25. Massachusetts: 29.7
26. Utah: 29.78
27. Michigan: 33.3
28. Idaho: 33.6
29. Minnesota: 34.62
30. Montana: 35.12
31. Arkansas: 37.25
32. Nebraska: 37.32
33. Louisiana: 37.69
34. South Carolina: 37.71
35. Missouri: 38.57
36. Ohio: 38.62
37. Wyoming: 39.05
38. South Dakota: 40.33
39. Indiana: 40.75
40. Pennsylvania: 41.84
41. Tennessee: 44.47
42. Alabama: 44.67
43. Wisconsin: 46.28
44. Iowa: 49.28

45. North Dakota: 49.39
46. Kentucky: 50.76
47. Mississippi: 52.73
48. Vermont: 55.47
49. New Hampshire: 57.69
50. Maine: 59

51. West Virginia: 62.13

PS: I've bolded the 16 states which (currently) are Republican states with very low diversity score (actually high degree of diversity) or Democratic states with very high diversity score. These might possibly be vulnerable for a partisan attack in the future, or what do you guys think? Michigan, North Carolina and Minnesota are very close to the average however.

Comments? Might this have future political implications in any ways? Notice that the "blackest" of all 50 states, Mississippi, is among the bottom 5 states. And that Alaska is ahead of both New Mexico, Nevada, New York and most other states as well.

I think Alaska might be promising actually. They don't have the racist past of the southern states for sure, and Mississippi in particular. I just wish there would have been a US census every 5 years and not only every 10 years, that would have made our lives so much more easy for every single one of us lol. Tongue

Alaska is libertarian and the most elastic Republican state.

It has two senators that are pro-choice and favor same-sex marriages.
