This is my first time posting in one of these threads, so it feels slightly funny.

Tik, I'm sorry to hear about your cat. Sad  I grew up with two cats, both now gone; it was very sad when we had to put them to sleep.  I now have a very nice cat, and it will be not be easy when he goes.

I wish the best to you too, Scott.  You still have a clearer idea of what you are going to do in your future than what I had at your age, although I've never had the same financial difficulties.  I hope things turn out OK for you and your mom.

My sister will have a baby in May.  I'll be an uncle.

Thank you!

I probably won't see him (the baby) until he is several months old.  My sister lives in Paris with her French husband (my sister is American).  The baby will have dual citizenship.

Having a half-french aunt/nephew will be awesome, I can assure you Tongue.

My nephew will be every bit as eligible to run for POTUS (as far as the birth qualification goes) as Ted Cruz.

Visiting Grinnell College. Also its rather embarassing to admit, but it'll be the first time I'm out of California...

Wow, that's just two counties away from my birthplace!

I'm sorry for your loss, Flo.  It's always tough to lose a grandparent, but I'm glad to hear that your grandfather provided laughter in his last moments.

I wish you the best, and I'm sure you'll always remember the pleasant memories of your grandfather.

I'm very sorry hear that, Sanchez. Sad  I wish the very best to you and your family, and hope things get better for you guys.  You do seem like a strong person in dealing with so many difficult challenges the best you can.

I just checked my ACT, and I made a 26 overall without a calculator.  I was reasonably surprised by it.  Got a 30 in reading and 25 in math.

Congratulations!

I decided to tell my crush that I really liked him and long story short, I'm in a relationship Smiley

Congratulations to you too!

My mom might need knee surgery.  If she does, hopefully it will go well.  She had a hip replacement last summer, and it was very successful, thankfully.

I'm recovering from a cold.  It was my first one in a while.  Fortunately, colds tend to not be too miserable once the sore throat of the first day is done, which has been the case with this one.

I spent last week in the Boundary waters of MN.

That sounds fun; I love the area.

Did you run into any big animals?

My 3-month-old nephew has been having some difficulties.  He has clubfoot.  Treatment has started, but he still has to wait a while before he'll fully recover.  He also has acid reflux disease, and it will probably be a couple of months before that finally ends.  Both these conditions have caused him much pain.

Fortunately, he is expected to recover eventually from both.  He also seems fairly happy and is smiling much more frequently.  (I've not actually seen my nephew since he's in France.  This is what I hear from my sister.)

I'm a little worried about my cat.  He eats strange things such as plastic plants and red ribbon (the latter of which he threw up), and I recently had to chase him away from an electric wire he was chewing.

He hasn't been feeling as well recently.  I don't know if it's related to anything he's eaten, but I did catch him nibbling on ribbon earlier.

Sorry to hear about what your cat has gone through, Hagrid.  Mine seems to be doing better now, and I hope that yours feels better too.

Also, congrats Cassius!

My depression seems to be worsening again.  I don't have much energy or much of an appetite.

Suicide is something you never think you'd actually consider, but sometimes people feel so terrible that that life doesn't seem worth it, and I can understand a little bit how they feel.

I'm feeling a little better.  The depression is still there, but I have more energy.  I've been taking frequent walks (especially in the morning), and they seem to be good for me.

After Labor Day, I'll be heading back to college.  I've completed my requirements for a bachelor's degree, but I want to take a few more classes, so I will be part time.  I'm also seeking employment at a library.  I've worked at a library before, I enjoyed it.

A dead grasshopper got into my house.  Maybe my cat brought it in, or maybe my cat killed it after it had come in alive.  Grasshoppers are nasty creatures, and I took it to the toilet immediately.

I'm leaving for Chicago on Thursday, coming back Sunday (won't be posting during that time).  Looking forward to it.
