I dreamt that Theresa May ordered the release of well known serial killer, (and irl former Education Secretary and current Environment Secretary) Michael Gove from a state prison, before the ground began to shake, and the scene dissolved into a neon-kaleidoscopic landscape of despair.

My subconscious seems to associate Gove with an unknowable Lovecraftian horror.

I dont know why, I just don't.

I had a dream that Susan Collins was my great-aunt. I was filled with guilt that I didn't speak out about her character during the election, and woke up convinced that I was solely responsible for her re-election, and thus GOP control of the Senate.

I then realised that I probably stayed quiet in order to draw on her political capital to support my own statewide run for office in Maine in a few years, and spiralled into a surreal, colourful, non-euclidean world of self-disgust.

I then woke up. In Scotland. Without American citizenship or a famous relative.

Pretty sure my brain's reaction to the UK heatwave was to fabricate a series of fever dreams about the Tory leadership race spiraling out of control.

But then I woke and realised that Liz Truss now the frontrunner, and realised that the race really had spiraled out of control.
