Hadn't heard of him before. Can't say I agree with his theology, but it is not totally horrible and the description in the Wiki article of his preaching style sounds reasonably good.

Mildly annoying. I find it contradictory to be a Calvinist and a Dispensationalist.

Well he is a Calvinist...

While traditionally all Calvinists were Cessationists, that's not always the case today, tho MacArthur does maintain that traditional linkage.

Well he is a Calvinist...

Josh Harris (of I Kissed Dating Good-Bye fame) and David Platt (of Secret Church fame) are Calvinists and believe in the gifts.

I can think of a couple Arminians who are Cessationists. Mostly in my local area. They're Independent Baptists whom I happen to work with.

Personally I'm Wesleyan Arminian in the Arminian-Calvinist debate while hold to most of the Assembly of God's theology on the gifts with a Jesus Culture perspective.
