Excellent. When you get a chance could you give me an analysis of the effects of this law that I recently signed --both in terms of health care cost, effect on the budget, and jobs/the economy as a whole. I had asked Griffin right when he was resigning so it wasn't good timing on my part, so I obviously never got it.

No rush.

SJoyce, I was wondering if you could do me a favor and provide me with pertinent information on two subjects...

I need a potential cost of college education in NE Universities for a student without any aid?

I also would like to ask how much per year does the NE spend on High Speed Rail?

If you can provide me with the answers to those questions, I'd appreciate it.

The Northeast currently spends $25 billion for a Railroads line-item in the July-November NE Budget.

Cost of college really depends on where you're going. Cooper Union, for instance, is free if you get accepted, as are the service academies. Do you want for public universities, community colleges, or what?

Thanks. Public Universities, please.

Average tuition at a public four-year in-state college in the Northeast region is $11091.

Hey, SJoyce, could I also get the cost of this bill?

Where are these parks? What's the administrative structure of this system? How are you acquiring these parks?

So it's all media markets twenty times a day? Are these evenly spaced? Hourly except not 2-6 AM?

Forgive me for speaking out of line on PJ's bill, but this is what I would suggest.

For the parks bill, assume that the parks should on already-owned state land, so we're just looking at administrative costs. The structure will be simple; a minimal ranger system for internal stuff, road paving, and entry/information booths (one per park should be sufficient).

Pretty much this, since the New Protect Our Forests Act already acquires land for the government. But we would need an administrative office of about 200-300 employees. I will amend the bill to include this.

Oh great GM but not quite as great as Adam Griffin,

Your opinion on this bill will effect how I decide to write the stimulus bill so please try to get back to us quickly Smiley

Merp derp, sorry to add to your workload but I've made some edits that I think will make it easier for you in the end. This version of the bill is more specific.

Suggested Amendment. I think this will be more budget friendly in the end. I'm willing to strip or change Section 3 Part 2 depending on the GM's review and feedback.

On the education bills (both SirNick's and TNF's): I know the calculations necessary to do this, but Census data and the information I'd need to get on this from the Department of Education is currently offline due to the IRL government shutdown. It's wreaking havoc on my ability to finish my debate research as well. Hopefully the following report will ease concerns until the Congress can get its sh*t together.

Economic Indicators Update

Current as of 7/24/2013

National GNP & Growth Stats:

GNP: $14.86 trillion
GNP 6-Month Growth: -0.12%

2013 Projected Federal Revenue: $2.81 trillion
2013 Projected Federal Revenue As % of GDP: 18.94%

CPI (1 month): -0.03%
CPI (Last 12 months): +3.54%

Gold: $1663.10/oz
Crude Oil: $92.60/barrel

NASDAQ: 2386.01

Regional unemployment:
IDS: 7.80%
Mideast: 6.60%
Midwest: 7.90%
Northeast: 6.90%
Pacific: 15.10%

Things stayed even or only shifted marginally in three regions. A small drop in the Midwest and a larger drop in the Pacific occurred as a result of the announcement of upcoming stimulus spending.

I see we dropped from 7 to 6.9 which is superb, but the Northeast did announce a second stimulus package btw.

And thats fine as per-government shutdown affecting those websites. I understand.

Energy Self-Sufficiency Tax Holiday Bill
Section 1
1.   For a period from January 1 to December 31 of the year following the adoption of this bill, there shall be no sales tax on energy efficient items outlined in 2.
2.   “Energy Efficient Items” shall be outlined as:
a.   Solar Panels
b.   Solar Water Heaters
c.   Wind turbines
d.   Waste to Power plants
e.   Energy efficient light bulbs
f.   Energy efficient washers and dryers
g.   Insulation
h.   Water reclamation systems

Revenue impact is a loss of $2.074B for the year.
I am just making sure, and this is my error, but is this estimate for the Midwest region?

Yes, yes I can. However, for the purposes of debate in our region, which you may not be following, I would like the figures to come from the GM. But thank you for your input.

Not really.  The GM typically puts his own spin on how much a tax increase will discourage people from buying the product.  Typically, a pure doubling of a tax rate doesn't lead to a doubling of tax revenues.

Assuming you need to outfit around 82000 vehicles for local police, sheriffs, and regional law enforcement, and assuming a cost of around $300 for a 1080p HD dash cam, $24.6 million.

Does this account for cars that already have dash cams, or were you assuming that all cars would need cameras?

Currently 72% of Mideast police vehicles have dash cams - if the intention of this bill is just to cover the remaining 28% the money figure would be much lower (around $6.9M). As it is I'm assuming it needs to cover all vehicles in order to give them HD cameras (most in-car cameras were installed during a period between 2000 and 2003).

OK; I didn't know if most current dash cams were HD.
[/quote]

Can I get an updated analysis to reflect the updated bill:

Alright, we'll take a vote on Siren's amendment.  Members will vote AYE, NAY, or ABSTAIN.  This will be a 24-hour vote.
