The written law is vague. Therefore, I am calling an official petition, in which I hope the majority of citizens from each region shall sign.

In the hopes of a Fourth Constitution of Atlasia!

Hopefully we can take care of some elections-related Constitutional matters as well.

No. We need to stop playing with the governing documents and use the tools we have, which are more than adequate,  to improve people's lives.

X-Spamage

While I am opposed to too much irrational change, I believe a convention will allow us to create 4 regions and also clean up many of the amendments made over the years.

I think I am with Sirnick on this one, though not necessarily a no. I think we need to more carefully evaluate what we can do in the current system.

Here's what this petition will need, AFAIK.

Region - Total # of Citizens - Current Tally/Quota

Mideast - 48 - 4/25

IDS - 37 - 5/19

Northeast - 34-  3/18

Pacific- 29 - 6/15

Midwest- 27 - 2/14

So we'll need 3 out 5 regions to call a convention? That means we'll need a lot more signatures than we have now.

Signatures by party:

8 Laborites
6 Progressives
4 "Movementeers"
2 Federalists
1 Independent

Most members of PRO and NM-AM have already signed it, and I expect that the remaining few will also sign. We can likely see a lot more support from Labor, and if Spamage wins the Federalist nomination, we could expect to see more Federalists supporting his positions. So now that the center-left and loony left have almost fully come out in support of this, what we need is rallying of the Laborites by Labor leadership, and rallying of the Federalists by Spamage.

I think the wording here is definitely open to interpretation. It doesn't say a majority of citizens in a majority of regions have to call for a ConCon, only citizens in a majority of regions. Technically speaking, we have already had "citizens of a majority of the Regions" call for a ConCon.

I'd be interested in hearing what others think on this wording. If they don't think what we've currently done is sufficient, I would say the quickest option would be to have each region open a voting booth on the matter and give it an up or down vote.
