I'm generally available, as I mentioned, but Napoleon's experience and political success make him the chief adviser here. I may or may not run for the Senate: my heart says yes, my brain says no. I often listen to my heart and then find myself saying, yep, I should have listened to my brain. Wink

Silly DemPGH, what could possibly make you regret it? Evil

I'd encourage you to take a stab at it, DemPGH. Your experience campaigning and governing would give a boost to the party that's sorely needed.

I move for party endorsement votes on the Mideast Assembly and Midwest Althing races this weekend once we have a better idea of who all is running and what they stand for.  Would anyone like to second that?

I would like to request the endorsement of my party for my reelection bid next month.  Though I am still fresh into my first term, I've had the opportunity on speaking on a few bills and was recently elevated to the position of Speaker.  I intend to work in this capacity in a way that will make the Legislature more open, efficient, and fast, and it would be an honor to receive the Progressive Party's endorsement. Thanks, Siren. Smiley  I think there is an upcoming election.  Velasco is a placeholder for the office vacated by former Speaker Hashemite.

Why won't the remaining Liberals abandon ship, already?  Are those the zombie voters we'll eventually see swept from the rolls?

There are some like Badger who vote every time but don't participate in party politics. Thus, it wouldn't matter to them that the Liberal party is basically defunct and since they vote every time, they will likely not get de-registered.

Hello Progressive Union members. Could someone explain what the heck's been going on in the moderate left? There was the Liberal Party, Light Party, Civic Union etc. Now the Progressive Union seems to be the main group. Who were the parties and why was there so much churn?

In May, IBDD and Lumine left the Feds to form UNDA. (Union of National Democrats) In June, I left Labor and founded the Social Democrats. We merged in July to form the Civic Union. Then we merged with the Light Party in August to form the Progressive Union. We never merged with Liberal, but a couple members are former Liberals.

Hi fellow Progressives.  First, I want to warmly welcome Brewer to the party!

In other news, voting on Party Endorsements for the Mideast Assembly and Midwest Althing races is now open.  Voting will be open for 72 hours.

Remember our endorsement votes use score voting*

*Note on how score voting works:  members give each candidate a score ranging from 1 (the worst) to 10 (the best); candidates with an average score of at least 8 (as well as any candidates belonging to the Progressive Union) are endorsed. Any ballot not including an official candidate will be considered as abstain; any ballot not including a certain write-in candidate shall be considered to rate that candidate a '1'

Midwest Althing

[ 7 ]  Cris (Federalist - CO)
[ 10 ]  GAworth (Progressive Union - SD)

Napoleon brings up a valid point about score voting.  A few other members, including me, have voiced concerns in the past too.

Does anyone want to discuss alternatives?
I prefer PR-STV, even though I'm not skilled at calculating it.
