The first thing I do when I look up a place I've never heard about before, is how it votes.

I thought this was normal. Smiley

Meeting lots of international students here I have gotten strange looks when I have said things about "True Finns" and "Jobbik" for example.

A few years ago when I was living in Toronto I was bored one evening and went into the lobby of the student accommodation complex where I was staying and started to talk to the guy behind the counter. I asked him what he did and he told me that he studied Political Science and he was really interested in political demography, in particular why certain places vote for certain parties. I then instantly did a take in my mind to figure out if he could any member of the forum. When I figured that he couldn't I restrained myself from saying "Hi, I'm Gully Foyle".

Seeing someone who looks like your friend on here and has the same name as your friend on here, it turns up not being your friend, and to some degree being mindf(inks)ed by the entire experience.
