Disability Pensions Passed
The Johnson government passed a bill creating special monthly allowances of $250 per month to members of society deemed to have a disability.  Labor and the Liberals both backed the bill strongly.  It was passed by an overwhelming majority after Conservative Leader Richard Nixon decided to allow his caucus a free vote on the matter, as many Red Torries did support the measure.  The ANM and Libertarians voted against it.  The final vote count was 845-312.  The Liberal-controlled Senate ensured its passage.
