The Laborinth/Madam Griffin's House of Duels 'n' Fools

As one cranky Georgia Democrat once said:

Thankfully, we do! Pursuant to the Atlasian Duels Act:

So this is where The Laborinth/Madam Griffin's House of Duels 'n' Fools comes into the picture. Functioning as an arbitrator between two parties, this fine establishment shall seek to create various dueling formats for any two citizens to use - all in compliance with the Atlasian Duels Act.

Yeah, there'll also be liquor and , too. Our laywers tell us that we can gamble, so we'll see where this takes us. Sign this and we might even get some freelancers up in here.

As the final details for all of our services are still being drafted, this establishment will only be a peep-show until everything is complete.

PRIOR DUELS:

BLITZKRIEG BALLOT: LUMINE VS WELLS (BYE MIKE!)
BLITZKRIEG BALLOT: RAZZE VS NOT_MADIGAN BYE NM!)
F[INKS]K 'N' LUCK: SESTAK VS WXTRANSIT (BYE, TRANSIT!)

Pick Your Poison!

We are open for business! Below, you will find our three hosted dueling events. Don't like them? Well, tough - open your own damn parlor.

  • The two participants of any duel may subject themselves to the opinions of the Atlas Forum in a game of voting known as Blitzkrieg Ballot. The Laborinth/Madam Griffin’s House of Duels ‘n’ Fools shall – upon the request of the two participants – create a public poll within 72 hours of the formal request. No prior notice as to when said booth will open shall be provided to anyone. The public vote shall run for 24 hours and be open to all members of Atlas Forum. After 24 hours, the poll will automatically close and the results of said poll shall be viewable to all as a form of independent verification. The loser of the vote shall be deregistered for one week to two months, depending upon the original agreement between the participants. In the unlikely event of a tie, a sudden death round shall be held via our second event...
.
  • The two participants of any duel may allow their fates to be decided in a game of chance known as Fk ‘n’ Luck. The Laborinth/Madam Griffin’s House of Duels ‘n’ Fools shall – upon the request of the two participants – designate a random date, hour and minute at which said game shall occur, which shall be held within 72 hours of the formal request. The game shall consist of a coin-toss, which shall be handled through The People’s Virtual Coin Toss system. Once the time for the game to begin has arrived, the Laborinth, participants and the public can verify the outcome and will serve as a form of independent verification. The loser of the coin-toss shall be deregistered for one week to two months, depending upon the original agreement between the participants.
.
  • The two participants of any duel may challenge one another to a game of domination known as Risky Sts. Played through the Warlight.net interface, this simulates the game commonly known as Risk. Players take turns and have a finite number of troops to deploy to various controlled territories. Once the game has ended, the results can be viewed by anyone via the Warlight interface as a form of independent verification. The loser of the game shall be deregistered for one week to two months, depending upon the original agreement between the participants.

I've heard rumors of people wanting to duel, so bumping...

PLUS/FUN FACT: Madam Griffin's House of Duels 'n' Fools is the only way you can currently de-register from the game!

Lumine and I have agreed to a duel like this. Get on it please. (Consider this the formal request.)

I hereby challenge Razze, Represenative, to a duel.  The penalty for loss shall be deregistration for 28 days, and my preferred method is a Blitzkrieg Ballot.

I accept

Note that (memes aside) it is my legal opinion as Attorney General of Atlasia that Peebs, should our Secretary of Federal Elections wish to do so, would be legally entitled to revoke her acceptance of the duel due to the recent executive order by President Yankee. The risk of adverse consequences even upon winning the duel would constitute impracticability of contract and would allow subsequent cancellation.

Is dueling still legal? One hopes that this wonderful tradition hasn't been undermined yet by senseless puritanism.

Unfortunately the Chief Justice I appointed so many years ago (along with the Supreme Court at-large) took a case (which was then brought by our incoming President) and subsequently ruled mandatory deregistration unconstitutional back in December 2019. Basically, we can have duels - but there is no enforcement mechanism to deregister the loser now.

It would take a constitutional amendment to restore this blessed tradition once again!

You're in luck that you've got a friend and ally in the Senate. Wink

REALLY SAD that the Federalists are once again trying to take away your personal rights and liberties!

Write your Senators and tell them you should have the right to determine when, where and how you enter and exit this game!

Actually, I will apologize to Mr. R specifically because at second glance, the sentence structure is awful - and while I may dislike him, I will never accuse him of bad grammar!
